A latch is moveable between a locked position where the cover is held fixed relative to the water meter pit frame to close the opening and an unlocked position where the cover is moveable relative to the water meter pit frame to allow access to the opening. The latch comprises a rotatable cam that engages the water meter pit frame when in the locked position.

    摘要: A latch assembly includes a chassis, a latch bolt movably mounted on the chassis and having a closed position for retaining a striker and an open position for releasing the striker, and a pawl having an engaged position at which the pawl is engaged with the latch bolt to hold the latch bolt in the closed position and a disengaged position at which the pawl is disengaged from the latch bolt thereby allowing the latch bolt to move to the open position. The pawl is rotatably mounted via a pawl pivot pin about a pawl axis, and the pawl pivot pin includes a first arcuate portion having a first radius about the pawl axis. A cross-sectional area of the pawl pivot pin, taken perpendicular to the pawl axis, is greater than an area of a circle having the first radius.

    摘要: A device for opening and closing a push open type fuel door for a vehicle may include a latch assembly, a push button assembly and a motor assembly modularized and mounted in a single housing. The latch assembly may come into direct contact with a fuel door so as to lock or unlock the fuel door. The push button assembly may be connected with the latch assembly so as to be operated in conjunction with the latch assembly, and unlock or lock the latch assembly while being moved upward or downward by pushing the fuel door. The motor assembly may lock a push button of the push button assembly so as to restrict movement of the push button and the latch assembly when the fuel door is closed.

    摘要: The present invention includes door locks having a cam having three lobes, and to systems including such door locks. The outer lobes of the cam can limit the rotation of the cam. By limiting the rotation of the cam, the outer lobes can ensure that the cam is always ready for immediate activation. The outer lobes can also strike against outer pins of a locking mechanism to cause the cam to rotate with the locking mechanism when the locking mechanism is activated from the opposite side of the locking mechanism. The present invention also extends to methods of installing and using a door lock including three lobes.

    摘要: A locking system or a storage unit with the locking system, includes a locking core and a connected cammed lever. A user can rotate the core and lever about an axis when a latch is disengaged from a detent. When the latch is engaged with the detent, the core and the cammed lever are prevented from rotating about the axis. When the locking assembly is installed within the storage unit, the latch may be configured to strike a guide associated with a locking bar assembly, so that when the latch is moved to an unlatched position, the locking core and the lever are free to rotate, operating the locking bar between locked and unlocked positions. When the latch is withdrawn away from the guide, the latch engages with the detent to prevent movement of the lever and locking core relative to the locking assembly, to retain the lever and locking core in a desired, predetermined orientation.

The cam is also configured to displace an end of the latch when the cam is rotated about the axis of rotation. The slider is operably connected to the cam and is configured to cause the cam to rotate about the axis of rotation. Some embodiments also include a retaining cover and a boot. The retaining cover secures a second end of the latch to a module in which the latching mechanism is implemented. The boot is operatively connected to the slider and can be manipulated by a user to activate the slider.
