Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for managing aeronautical safety-critical services or data links, comprising: receiving quality measurement data indicative of a quality parameter measured for an aeronautical safety-critical service or data link used by an aircraft; receiving a four-dimensional position associated with the quality measurement data, wherein said four-dimensional position includes a three-dimensional space position and a corresponding time that are computed based on a Global Navigation Satellite System and related to the measured quality parameter; tagging the quality measurement data with the associated four-dimensional position; determining, on the basis of the tagged quality measurement data and of a predefined task policy, a task to be performed, which task includes an adaptation of the aeronautical safety-critical service used by the aircraft or of resources allocated to the aeronautical safety-critical data link used by the aircraft, wherein said adaptation is based on said tagged quality measurement data; and performing the determined task.

Abstract: A transmitting system, a receiving system, and a method of processing broadcast signals are disclosed. The method for processing a broadcast signal in a broadcast receiver comprises receiving a DTV signal including a data group, the data group including mobile service data, segmented known data sequences, long known data sequences and transmission parameter data, compensating carrier frequency offset of the DTV signal and channel-equalizing the carrier frequency offset compensated DTV signal using at least one of the long known data sequences and segmented known data sequences in the data group of the DTV signal, wherein the channel-equalizing includes performing a Error Correction (FEC) decoding on data located between the segmented known data sequences, and estimating Channel Impulse Response (CIR) using the FEC decoded data as known data.

Abstract: Techniques for application code obfuscation are disclosed. In one embodiment, the techniques may be realized as a method including receiving application code and testing data associated with the application; automatically generating obfuscated application code from the received application code; automatically testing the obfuscated application code by running the obfuscated application code and inputting at least the recorded inputs from the testing data while recording associated outputs; in response to determining that the associated outputs from automatically testing the obfuscation code do not match the testing data outputs, modifying the obfuscated application code and automatically testing the modified obfuscated application code against the testing data; and, in response to determining that outputs from automatically testing the modified obfuscated application code match the testing data outputs, transmitting the modified obfuscated application code as a successful obfuscation of the application.

Abstract: One embodiment provides a system that facilitates a flexible strategy for matching content objects and interests. During operation, the system receives, by a computing device, an interest which includes a set of attributes, wherein a respective attribute has one or more values. In response to not obtaining a matching entry for the interest in a pending interest table, the system adds to the pending interest table a first entry which indicates the interest based on the attributes and their values. The system determines whether a received content object satisfies the interest indicated in the first entry based on the attributes of the first entry and attributes of the content object. In response to determining that the content object satisfies the interest, the system forwards the content object, thereby facilitating a flexible strategy for matching content objects to interests.

Abstract: An eco-system for tracking a user's physiological parameters comprises a central sensor and at least one remote sensor in wireless communication with the central sensor, a portable device readily accessible to the user, and a cloud platform. Each sensor may be worn by the user and measure data indicative of one or more of the physiological parameters. The central sensor may receive and process the measured data from each remote sensor and processes its own measured data. The portable device comprises a receiver wirelessly receiving the processed data and instructions from the central sensor; a processor running a mobile application handling the processed data and instructions; and a transmitter transmitting the processed data. The cloud platform receives the processed data from the transmitter; analyzes the received processed data; and transmits the results of the analysis to at least one of the portable device and an authorized healthcare entity.

Abstract: A personalized adaptive health monitoring system comprises: a wearable central sensor wirelessly communicating with at least one wearable remote sensor, each sensor being configured to measure data indicative of one or more physiological parameters of a user; a portable device, and a cloud platform. The central sensor receives and processes measured data from each remote sensor and processes data measured by the central sensor. The portable device comprises: a receiver wirelessly receiving the processed data from the central sensor; a processor running a mobile application handling the processed data; and a transmitter. The cloud platform receives the processed data from the transmitter; analyzes the received processed data; and transmit results of the analysis to at least one of the portable device and an authorized healthcare entity. Analyzing the received processed data comprises comparing the received processed data with previously received data from the user and/or from other comparable individuals.

The chunking strategy can be determined using historical data of any of a variety of factors, such as Quality of Service (QoS) information. By using historical data in this manner, index files can be generated using chunking strategies that can improve these factors over time.
