摘要: A method and apparatus for vehicle monitoring of infrastructure lighting, an example of which includes a vehicle having a camera, an inter-vehicle communication module and a controller. The controller is to identify a stationary infrastructure object within an image captured by the camera and identify, in response to determining that the stationary infrastructure object includes a lamp, whether the lamp is inoperable. The controller also is to send, via vehicle-to-infrastructure communication utilizing the inter-vehicle communication module, an alert to an infrastructure communication node indicating that the lamp is inoperable.

摘要: Systems, methods, and apparatuses are disclosed for predicting or estimating the value of a variable speed sign (VSS). Probe data is received from multiple vehicles associated with a road segment. Location values are derived from the probe data. Center distance values are calculated based on the location values and the road segment. Clusters are derived from the probe data. Center distance values are grouped according to the respective clusters and a lane is assigned to at least one cluster based on the center distance values. The speed of the cluster predicts or estimates the corresponding lane of the VSS.

摘要: A method and apparatus for classifying light detection and ranging sensor data are provided. The method includes transforming sensor data of the LIDAR into point cloud data, selecting a cell including a subset of the point cloud data, dividing the selected cell into a plurality of voxels, calculating a difference of gradients for the plurality of voxels, performing a first pass on the plurality of voxels to identify voxels that contain an object based the difference of gradients, performing a second pass on the plurality of voxels to identify voxels that contain the object by adjusting a voxel with at least one from among a jitter parameter and a rotation parameter, and outputting a centroid average of voxels identified as containing the object.

When the slippery road surface condition is detected, the processor controls the display to display the caution information regardless of the viewing direction of the driver.

摘要: An autonomous vehicle includes both a LIDAR sensor and a camera. A point cloud from the LIDAR sensor is processed to remove points corresponding to a ground plane and points having a reflectivity below a reflectivity threshold. The remaining points are grouped into clusters. Clusters having points satisfying a flatness threshold are then converted into 2D pixel positions in the output of the camera. Regions of interest including these 2D pixel positions are then analyzed to detect and interpret any road signs present.

摘要: Embodiments relate to methods for efficiently encoding sensor data captured by an autonomous vehicle and building a high definition map using the encoded sensor data. The sensor data can be LiDAR data which is expressed as multiple image representations. Image representations that include important LiDAR data undergo a lossless compression while image representations that include LiDAR data that is more error-tolerant undergo a lossy compression. Therefore, the compressed sensor data can be transmitted to an online system for building a high definition map. When building a high definition map, entities, such as road signs and road lines, are constructed such that when encoded and compressed, the high definition map consumes less storage space. The positions of entities are expressed in relation to a reference centerline in the high definition map. Therefore, each position of an entity can be expressed in fewer numerical digits in comparison to conventional methods.
