摘要: System and methods for using probes to detect and elicit dangerous driving conditions. Historical probe data is aggregated and analyzed to identify reoccurring dangerous driving conditions down to the lane level. The lane level locations with high recurring dangerous driving condition metrics are identified and analyzed by a mapping system. The mapping system uses machine learning and other techniques to investigate, validate, and verify the dangerous driving conditions to ascertain the cause and then categorize the dangerous driving condition.

摘要: Systems, methods, and apparatuses are disclosed for predicting or estimating the value of a variable speed sign (VSS). A variable speed sign is identified. Probe data is collected at one or more vehicles in proximity to the variable speed sign. The speeds of the vehicles are included in or derived from the probe data. A statistical analysis is performed on the probe data. A speed limit value for the variable speed sign is determined based on the statistical analysis.

The approach includes receiving probe trajectory data, wherein the probe trajectory data is associated with at least one subset of a plurality of travel nodes. The approach further includes processing and/or facilitating a processing of the probe trajectory data to construct one or more microscopic origin-destination matrices, wherein the at least one microscopic origin-destination matrix represents one or more preferred travel paths through the subset of the plurality of travel nodes. The approach also involves causing, at least in part, an aggregation of the one or more microscopic origin-destination matrices to construct at least one aggregated origin-destination matrix to represent the plurality of travel nodes.

摘要: A controller receives probe data from a vehicle traveling on a path segment. The probe data may be collected by a mobile device. The path segment may be a multilane roadway. The controller identifies a first lane of the path segment from the probe data. The controller associated a forked route with the first lane of the path segment. The controller calculates different traffic values for the lanes of the path segment. One traffic value may be calculated directly from speeds derived from the path data. Another traffic value may be calculated by the probe data and a historical relationship.

Highly assisted driving (HAD) vehicles may read or capture images of the VSS. The speed limit values, images, or videos of the VSS are reported and received by a network and database for analysis. A predicted speed limit value is determined for the variable speed sign from at least a portion of the received traffic data. A confidence level is also calculated for the predicted speed limit value for the variable speed sign.
