摘要: A method for moisture testing of a fully assembled photovoltaic (PV) module. An assembled PV module is probed with short wave IR probe energy in the range of 1700-2000 nm. Energy reflected from the assembled PV module is collected and directed to a sensor. Noise is removed from a signal of the sensor with reference to the probe energy. Absorption is of the probe energy is determined. The absorption is correlated to moisture in the PV module. A preferred system that carries out the method provides a signal-to-noise ratio (as defined by standard deviation/mean of measured reflectance) of at least 3800.

摘要: A system, wearable device, and method include a light emitter configured to emit light at a first wavelength of between approximately 900 and 1000 nanometers and at a second wavelength of approximately 1350 nanometers, a first light detector spaced at a first distance from the light emitter, and a second light detector spaced at a second distance from the light emitter, the second distance approximately twice the first distance. At least one of hydration and glycogen of muscle tissue is determinable based on a relationship between backscatter light from the muscle tissue as detected by the second light detector and backscatter light from non-muscle tissue as detected by the first light detector.

摘要: A device and a method are provided for measuring the moisture in die cast molds, the cavity of which is connected via an evacuation conduit to an evacuation device. The modular assembly of the device is connectable to the evacuation conduit and includes a sensor assembly to measure the moisture of gases evacuated from the mold cavity. The sensor assembly includes an emitter emitting electromagnetic radiation and a detector detecting electromagnetic radiation. On the basis of the measured values obtained during the evacuation action it can be determined whether the amount of a water/release agent mixture jetted into the mold cavity needs to be altered before the actual casting action.

The light transmitting portion has a solid shape and the light transmitting portion is arranged in a bottom portion of the pipe so that a first portion where a vertical surface crosses a horizontal plane portion of the light transmitting portion is at the same height as a second portion where the vertical surface crosses the lowest part, or so that the first portion is higher than the second portion as well as so that a portion crossing the horizontal plane portion is in the lowest position on a cross line where a cross section of the pipe including a point where light is incident on the horizontal plane portion crosses an inner surface of the pipe and the light transmitting portion.

摘要: A detector for oil condition monitoring includes an optical fibre having a first end and a second end having an end face. A sensor body has a gap in which a sample of the oil may be received and a reflecting surface, the second end of the optical fibre being embedded in the sensor body and having an end face spaced from the reflecting surface across the gap. Light emitted from the optical fibre can pass through the sample of oil and be reflected by the reflecting surface back into the optical fibre. By interferometry of the respective signals, the condition of the oil can be determined.

摘要: A handheld moisture sensing device for use in determining the moisture content of biological material, such as animal feed. Adapted to be pressed against biological material to be analyzed, the device includes a sensor assembly, including a housing with an end structure including a grate adapted to engage the material to be examined, a near infrared (NIR) LED, an NIR light sensor, a glass mounted in the housing adjacent the light source so that light from the light source passes through the glass, a glass heater positioned adjacent the glass for heating the glass, a lens mounted in the housing adjacent the NIR sensor so that the NIR light reflected off the biological material passes through the glass and is focused by the lens onto the NIR sensor, and a controller connected to the NIR sensor and receiving a signal related to the reflected NIR light received by the NIR sensor.
