An oligoester composition which is an esterification reaction product of one or more rosins, one or more monocarboxylic acids, one or more polyhydric alcohols, and optionally one or more polycarboxylic acids, wherein the composition has a weight average molecular weight of from 500 g/mol to 8,000 g/mol and a Tg of between −80° C. and 100° C.
Abstract:
A polyester-based pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, pressure-sensitive adhesive tape, and double-coated pressure-sensitive adhesive tape each having high durability (high heating humidification storage stability) and good adhesive properties are provided using a polyester-based pressure-sensitive adhesive composition. The polyester-based pressure-sensitive adhesive composition of the invention includes a polyester, a hydrolysis-resistant agent, a tackifier with an acid value of 8 or less and a softening point of 80 to 170° C., and a crosslinking agent, and contains 20 to 100 parts by weight of the tackifier based on 100 parts by weight of the polyester.
Abstract:
Disclosed are compositions which include an ethylene polymer derived from at least one polar monomer with one or more ester groups, which polymerize with ethylene, (e.g., a copolymer derived from ethylene and vinyl acetate or a copolymer derived from ethylene and n-butyl acrylate) and a rosin ester. The rosin ester can have a low hydroxyl number (e.g., a hydroxyl number six or five or less), a low acid number (e.g., an acid number of ten or less), a low PAN number (e.g., a PAN number of eight or less), or combinations thereof. The compositions can exhibit improved viscosity stability and/or color stability and/or a decreased amount of char particle formation upon thermal aging.
Abstract:
Aliphatically modified rosin resins are prepared by reacting rosin esters with aliphatic monomers. These aliphatically modified rosin resins are compatible with metallocene catalyzed polyolefins and other aliphatic base polymers and are used as tackifiers in combination with metallocene catalyzed polyolefins and other aliphatic base polymers to form adhesive compositions for hot melt and pressure sensitive applications.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to an adhesive agent which can be used in the mounting of a semiconductor chip on a circuit board or the like. The present invention addresses the problem of providing an adhesive agent having both excellent storage stability and excellent connection reliability. A means for solving the problem is an adhesive agent comprising (a) a polyamide, (b) an epoxy compound and (c) an acid-modified rosin.
Abstract:
An adhesive tape comprising a substrate having a top surface and a bottom surface, and an adhesive applied to the top or the bottom surface of the substrate. The adhesive comprises a tackifying resin. The tackifying resin comprises a rosin resin, a rosin resin derivative, a terpene resin, a heat reactive phenolic resin, a petroleum-based resin, or a combination thereof. Rosin resin derivatives include a rosin ester, a rosin metal salt, a hydrogenated rosin ester, a partially hydrogenated rosin, or a combination thereof. In another aspect, the adhesive is a pressure sensitive adhesive, and the adhesive tape is a masking tape. The adhesive tape is particularly suitable for adhesion to surfaces painted with paint having low or no volatile organic compounds.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to new improved adhesives for binding books and related articles and the production of such adhesives. In particular, the adhesives have reduced content of monomeric diisocyanates or no monomeric diisocyanate content.
