The invention refers to a method for producing expanded polymer pellets, which comprises the following steps: melting a polymer comprising a polyamide; adding at least one blowing agent; expanding the melt through at least one die for producing an expanded polymer; and pelletizing the expanded polymer. The invention further concerns polymer pellets produced with the method as well as their use, e.g. for the production of cushioning elements for sports apparel, such as for producing soles or parts of soles of sports shoes. A further aspect of the invention concerns a method for the manufacture of molded components, comprising loading pellets of an expanded to polymer material into a mold, and connecting the pellets by providing heat energy, wherein the expanded polymer material of the pellets or beads comprises a chain extender. The molded components may be used in broad ranges of application.

A transparent, fireproof thermoplastic composition which is free from halogen compounds and includes a polyamide-block graft copolymer formed by a polyolefin backbone and, on average, at least one polyamide graft. The grafts are attached to the backbone by the radicals of an unsaturated monomer (X) that has a function capable of reacting with a polyamide, and the radicals of the unsaturated monomer (X) are attached to the backbone by grafting or co-polymerisation from the double bond thereof. The composition includes, as a weight percentage of the total composition: 90 to 99 wt % of the polyamide-block graft copolymer, and 1 to 10 wt % of metal salts of phosphoric acid.

The method includes: reacting a poly(maleimide-co-alkenyl benzene) polymer with a nylon and an alkyl diamine under substantially dry conditions sufficient to form a nylon grafted poly(maleimide-co-alkenyl benzene) polymer product; and, dispersing the nylon grafted poly(maleimide-co-alkenyl benzene) polymer product with an extender oil sufficient to form the gel. Polyamide graft-modified rubbery block copolymer compositions are provided by reaction of maleated rubbery block copolymers with polymeric dimer fatty acid based polyamide wherein the molar ratio of maleated rubbery block copolymer to the dimer fatty acid polyamide is greater than 2 to 1. The compositions find use as hot melt adhesive components.
