A method of reducing aldehyde emissions during injection molding of a part with a cellulosic fiber-reinforced polypropylene composition. An injection molding machine capable of the parameters necessary for injection molding of a cellulosic fiber-reinforced polypropylene composition is provided. Said injection molding machine including: a hopper for holding of a pelletized cellulosic fiber-reinforced polypropylene composition material; a feed throat portion; and, a mixing chamber installed in line with the injection molding machine between the hopper and the feed throat portion. Metering an effective amount of an aldehyde reducing composition into the mixing chamber containing pelletized cellulosic fiber-reinforced polypropylene composition and mixing the pelletized cellulosic fiber-reinforced polypropylene composition with the aldehyde reducing composition for wetting the surface of the pellets with the aldehyde reducing composition. A part is then injection molded with the wetted pelletized mixture.

The invention concerns a profiled part and aggregates for making same. The aggregates contain a material for plastic matrix technique and an adherence promoter. Regenerated cellulose fiber elements are incorporated in the matrix material. The characteristic profile of a profiled part made from such aggregates corresponds substantially to that of profiled PC/ABS parts, the profiled part of the invention being, however, capable of being produced at a more advantageous cost, being more recyclable and being, moreover, capable of being shaped at lower temperatures.

A polyamide resin pellet for a miniature part, comprising a polyamide resin (A) whose melting point as measured by DSC is in the range of 280 to below 330null C., which has an average volume of 0.001 to 21 mm3, the average volume determined by randomly sampling 50 pellets, measuring the weight and specific gravity of each of the pellets and dividing the weight by the specific gravity. The polyamide resin pellet exhibits low water absorption and is excellent in moldability, mechanical strength characteristics and heat resistance. Further, it has specified average volume, configuration, average diameter and average length, so that, in an injection molding, plasticization is smoothly effected to thereby enable obtaining a molded item or article which exhibits low dispersion of weight and strength and has excellent hue. The polyamide resin pellet is especially suitable for use in a molding material for forming miniature parts for motor vehicles and electrical or electronic equipments.

An improved molding process provides highly conductive polymer composite parts have bulk conductivity over 10 S/cm. This conductivity is particularly useful in collector plate for use in fuel cells. The process can include compounding of a mixture of conductive filler with a polymer binder, extruding the mixture after the binder is plasticized to make pellets. The pellets can then be introduced to a dual temperature feed container of an injection molding machine and injected under high pressure and velocity into the mold cavity. The resulting parts, and particularly collector plates can be made economically and provide a high conductivity while maintaining strength and chemical resistance properties.

The present invention relates to a process for the production of thermoplastic polycarbonate injection-moulded shaped articles from polycarbonate melt strands, which is characterized in that polycarbonate melt strands are pressed through a circular orifice with a diameter of 1 to 8 mm, preferably 2 to 6 mm, and are then cooled to below their softening point, stretched in a ratio of between 1:1.5 and 1:8, preferably between 1:1.5 and 1:5, between room temperature and the softening point of the resulting polycarbonate strand, and are then granulated, and the resulting polycarbonate granules are processed in a known manner by the injection-moulding process at product temperatures of below 320.degree. C. preferably below 300.degree. C.
