The invention relates to a composition containing at least one catalyst (C1) containing at least one atom of an element (M1) chosen from: Al, Sc, Ti, Mg, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Zr, Sn, Hf, Pb, Si, Sb and In; a catalyst (C2) comprising at least one atom of an element (M2) chosen from alkali metals and alkaline-earth metals; a thermosetting resin and/or a hardener for a thermosetting resin. The invention also relates to the use of this composition for rendering a resin which is in the thermoset state hot-deformable and nevertheless free of any residual stress after the deformation thereof; such a resin will advantageously retain its shape even if it is subsequently subjected to high temperatures. The invention relates, moreover, to kits for preparing the composition, to a thermoset-resin-based object obtained from a composition of the invention, to a process for manufacturing objects, to a process for hot-deformation of objects and to various possible uses of the compositions and objects of the invention.

A two-component curable epoxy resin system is disclosed. The resin system includes an epoxy resin component containing at least 80% by weight of a polyglycidyl ether of a polyphenol. The system also includes a hardener mixture containing mainly polyethylene tetraamines. The system includes one or more of i) alkali metal salts, ii) carboxylic acid-, carboxylic anhydride- or carboxylic acid ester-substituted phenol compounds, iii) an amino as a catalyst. The system has beneficial curing characteristics that make it useful for producing fiber-reinforced composites in a resin transfer molding process.

The compositions result from contacting at least one thermosetting resin precursor with at least one hardener selected from acid anhydrides in the presence of at least one transesterification catalyst. The thermosetting resin precursor includes hydroxyl functions and/or epoxy groups, and optionally ester functions, and the total molar quantity of the transesterification catalyst is between 5 and 25% of the total molar quantity of hydroxyl and epoxy contained in the thermosetting resin precursor. Methods for manufacturing articles comprising the thermosetting resins and methods for recycling the thermosetting resins are also disclosed.

More specifically, in the method for preparing polyalkylenecarbonate, by using a solution polymerization with a specific heterogeneous catalyst and a solvent in the polymerization process of an epoxide compound and carbon dioxide, the products of side-reaction are reduced, removal of metal residues and by-products from the products is facilitated, danger due to overheating of the reactants is minimized, and heat removal and process stability are improved, and thus, high molecular weight copolymer may be easily provided, and mass production and scale-up are easy.

A high heat-resistant composite material which comprises a polymerizable composition comprising a bi-functional epoxy compound, a tri- or more-functional epoxy compound and a polymerization initiator, wherein the polymerization initiator comprises a sodium salt or potassium salt of mono- or poly-functional carboxylic acid, and a reinforcing fiber such as a carbon fiber or a glass fiber; and a vehicle member or a construction member comprising the above heat-resistant composite material. Said composite material comprises an epoxy polymer having high heat-resistant physical properties over those of a conventional epoxy polymer as a matrix, and exhibits an extremely high retention factor of storage modulus at high temperature.

Composite carboxy terminated polybutadiene (CTPB) rubber base propellants, in which the CTPB inherently contains 2,2'-methylene-bis(4-methyl-6-tert-butyl)phenol (A0-2246) added during CTPB manufacture and antagonistic toward conventional antioxidants added to the CTPB propellant, are provided, which contain a synergistic (see Markush definition) antioxidant mixture highly compatible with the inherently present AO-2246. Invention also provides the antioxidant mixture per se.
