摘要: The application belongs to the technical field of water treatment, and relates to a biofilm electrochemical reactor for simultaneously removing nitrate nitrogen and trace organic matters in water. According to the principles of electrochemical reaction and products completely different under different cathode and anode material conditions, the reactor is divided into three functional regions, wherein first, an electrochemical reaction of producing hydrogen at a cathode and decomposing carbon at an anode is realized in a first functional region so as to provide a condition for reduction of nitrate nitrogen by a hydrogen autotrophic denitrifying bacteria of a particle electrode layer in a second functional region, after products generated by means of the electrochemical reaction and a biochemical reaction in the previous two functional regions enter a third functional region, pollutants such as trace organic components and residual ammonia nitrogen in water are oxidized and decomposed by using anodic oxidation function.

摘要: A copper integrated electrode with a convertible oxidation state, a preparation method and an application method are provided. The preparation process is based on an electrochemically induced self-growth method. Copper foam is used as a precursor, soaked in a graphene oxide solution, dried, calcined at high temperature and annealed, and then treated with an alkali solution to obtain the copper integrated electrode with the convertible oxidation state. The working electrode prepared by the nano-catalytic material of the present invention has good denitrification performance in the environmental field, which can achieve nearly 100% nitrate removal rate, nearly 100% nitrogen selectivity and long-term stability. These properties are due to the prepared working electrode having an oxidizable copper (I, II/0, I), oxygen vacancy (O) and a one-dimensional nanowire structure. The structure can regulate the adsorption and reduction of intermediate products, resulting in nearly 100% nitrate removal rate and nearly 100% nitrogen selectivity.

摘要: Methods and systems for removing pollutants from water include one or more filter systems and a hybrid wetland system. Hybrid wetland systems may include a first pipe transporting water from a body of water to a settling tank, a first constructed wetland connected to the settling tank via a second pipe, and a first filter system removing pollutants from water passing through the second pipe. A second filter system is positioned within the first wetland to further remove pollutants. The system also includes a second constructed wetland connected to the first constructed wetland via a third pipe and a water control chamber. Filtered water exiting the first constructed wetland flows through the water control chamber, through the third pipe, and into the second constructed wetland. A fourth pipe extends between the second constructed wetland and the body of water, returning filtered water to the body of water.

摘要: A solids separation apparatus (SSA) for removing solids concentrate from a continuous fluid stream. The solids separation apparatus includes a tower. The SSA includes a transducer operably engaged with a first end of the tower and configured to generate a standing sonic wave inside of the tower. The SSA also includes a reflector operably engaged with an opposing second of the tower and configured to reflect the standing sonic wave towards the transducer. The SSA also includes at least one set of ports defined in an interior wall of at least one solids removal stage of the tower. The at least one set of ports is positioned at anti-nodes of the standing sonic wave to recover solids concentrate from a fluid stream flowing through the tower. The transducer and the reflector of the SSA are linearly moveable relative to the tower to linearly move the standing sonic wave.

摘要: The process for creating one or more engineered media for use in a water purification filter is a passive multi-stage multi-media filter for use in water purification. The process for creating one or more engineered media for use in a water purification filter removes harmful contaminants from a water stream including, but not limited to, toxic heavy metals and metalloids, pharmaceutical residues, micro-toxins, endocrine disrupters, chlorinated and other halogenated solvents, fluoride, nitrate, and naturally occurring radioactive contaminants. The process for creating one or more engineered media for use in a water purification filter maintains concentrations of phytochemicals that provide health benefits. Water processed through the process for creating one or more engineered media for use in a water purification filter meets United States, European Union and World Health Organization standards for safe drinking water.

摘要: A sulphur denitrification system includes a liquid input fluidly coupled to a source of saltwater that includes nitrate; a liquid output fluidly coupled to the source of saltwater; a plurality of vertically-oriented tanks, at least one of the tanks including a liquid inlet that is fluidly coupled to the liquid input to receive a flow of the saltwater, a volume configured to enclose a plurality of sulphur particles that support denitrification bacteria that biologically transform the nitrate into at least one of nitrous oxide or nitrogen gas, and a liquid outlet fluidly coupled to the liquid output and the liquid inlets of the tanks; and a circulation system configured to circulate a portion of the saltwater though the liquid input to the liquid inlets of the plurality of tanks, through the plurality of tanks, and from the liquid outlets of the tanks to the liquid output and the liquid inlets of the tanks.

摘要: A system and method for contaminant removal from water with biochar are disclosed. An example method includes loading biochar into a porous container. The example method also includes providing the porous container in a protective carrier. The example method also includes providing the porous container with the biochar within the protective carrier into a water body, waterway, or drainage area. The example method also includes sequestering at least some contaminants in the water body, waterway, or drainage area by the biochar in the container. The example method also includes removing the protective carrier with the porous container from the water body, waterway, or drainage area after the biochar has been loaded with nutrients, thereby physically removing the sequestered contaminants from the water body, waterway, or drainage area. The example method also includes providing the biochar loaded with nutrients for a secondary purpose.
