摘要: The present invention belongs to the field of aqueous environmental treatment and specifically relates to a preparation method and application of a cellulose/lignin/clay composite aerogel for the efficient adsorption of antibiotics. Cellulose/lignin/clay composite aerogels were prepared by sol-gel, cross-linking, and freeze-drying methods, and the preparation method and operation process were simple and easy to reuse with a large yield. The raw materials used in the present invention are the natural polymer materials, cellulose, lignin, and clay minerals, which are widely available and non-toxic, cellulose and lignin are biodegradable and have no risk of secondary pollution. Cellulose can be used as the matrix of aerogels owing to its unique environmental friendliness, biodegradability, and excellent structural skeleton structure. Cellulose can be used as the skeleton of aerogels, and lignin and clay minerals can be used as modifiers, which can significantly improve the mechanical properties of cellulose aerogels and the adsorption properties of antibiotics. The cellulose/lignin/clay composite aerogel of the present invention presents excellent adsorption ability for antibiotics.

摘要: A bleaching clay product, a method of producing and a method of decolorizing an oil are disclosed. The bleaching clay product comprises attapulgite that has been thermally activated. The bleaching clay product may have a permeability in oil in the range of 0.04-3 darcy and may have a surface area of 45-140 m2/g. The method of producing such bleaching clay product may comprise thermally activating a material that includes attapulgite by heating the material at a temperature in the range of 300 to 900° C. The method of decolorizing may include contacting for a contact time an oil with the bleaching clay product that comprises attapulgite that has been thermally activated, and separating the bleaching clay product from the oil to recover a decolorized oil that has a lower red color than the oil had prior to the contacting.

摘要: A composition can be used to treat water containing nitrogen compounds and phosphorus compounds. The composition includes iron filings, clay particles, aluminum particles, and sand particles. The iron filings, clay particles, and aluminum particles act to remove nitrogen compounds and phosphorus compounds from water. Specifically, the clay particles attract the nitrogen compounds and the phosphorus compounds to be absorbed onto a surface of the iron filings and the clay particles. The aluminum particles react with the nitrogen compounds via an oxidation reaction to form ammonia compounds and react with the phosphorus compounds to produce aluminum phosphate. The relationship between the iron filings, clay particles, and aluminum particles remove nitrogen and phosphorus compounds from water and recover the compounds in usable forms, namely, ammonia and aluminum phosphate.

摘要: Biogenic activated carbon compositions disclosed herein comprise at least 55 wt % carbon, some of which may be present as graphene, and have high surface areas, such as Iodine Numbers of greater than 2000. Some embodiments provide biogenic activated carbon that is responsive to a magnetic field. A continuous process for producing biogenic activated carbon comprises countercurrently contacting, by mechanical means, a feedstock with a vapor stream comprising an activation agent including water and/or carbon dioxide; removing vapor from the reaction zone; recycling at least some of the separated vapor stream, or a thermally treated form thereof, to an inlet of the reaction zone(s) and/or to the feedstock; and recovering solids from the reaction zone(s) as biogenic activated carbon. Methods of using the biogenic activated carbon are disclosed.
