Abstract: A stimulation device includes an adaptor component. The adaptor component couples a percutaneous lead to the stimulation device. The stimulation device may apply a stimulation signal to target tissue via the adaptor. A surgeon may place the stimulation device in a container and the adaptor component may be disposed outside of the container. Methods describe prolonged stimulation of target tissue via a stimulation device. The prolonged stimulation may be applied during and after a surgical procedure.

Abstract: Systems and methods that deliver a continuous partial nerve conduction block are described. A waveform generator can configure one or more direct current (DC) waveforms to provide a continuous partial nerve conduction block. One or more electrodes can deliver the one or more DC waveforms to provide the partial block to the neural structure. Feedback can be provided to the waveform generator related to the partial block. The feedback includes monitoring a property associated with the partial block and altering a parameter associated with the one or more direct current waveforms in response to the property associated with the partial block.

Abstract: Systems and methods for enhancing or affecting neural stimulation efficiency and/or efficacy are disclosed. In one embodiment, a system and/or method may apply electromagnetic stimulation to a patient's nervous system over a first time domain according to a first set of stimulation parameters, and over a second time domain according to a second set of stimulation parameters. The first and second time domains may be sequential, simultaneous, or nested. Stimulation parameters may vary in accordance with one or more types of duty cycle, amplitude, pulse repetition frequency, pulse width, spatiotemporal, and/or polarity variations. Stimulation may be applied at subthreshold, threshold, and/or suprathreshold levels in one or more periodic, aperiodic (e.g., chaotic), and/or pseudo-random manners. In some embodiments stimulation may comprise a burst pattern having an interburst frequency corresponding to an intrinsic brainwave frequency, and regular and/or varying intraburst stimulation parameters. Stimulation signals providing reduced power consumption with at least adequate symptomatic relief may be applied prior to moderate or significant power source depletion.

Abstract: One aspect of the present disclosure is a system including a waveform generator, a controller, and an electrical contact. The waveform generator is for generating an electrical nerve conduction block (ENCB). The controller is coupled with the waveform generator. The controller is configured to receive an input comprising at least one parameter to adjust the ENCB. The electrical contact is coupled with the waveform generator. The electrical contact is configured to be placed into contact with a nerve. The electrical contact comprises a high charge capacity material that prevents formation of damaging electro-chemical products at a charge delivered by the ENCB. The electrical contact is configured to deliver the ENCB to the nerve to block transmission of a signal related to a pain through the nerve.

Abstract: A method and device is described, which provides electrical stimulation to the brain of a person, where the device comprises an external portion and at least one implantable portion. The external portion provides the energy source for stimulation to the implantable portions. The implantable portions provide at least two conductive paths through the skull and use the skull's high impedance to generate a current loop with the focus of stimulation lying in the current path.

Abstract: A sensory unit for implant-supported dental implants or prostheses. The main unit is composed of two or more subunits, or devices. One of the units is placed in the region of the implant head, and will have the function of transforming the mechanical forces into an electrical signal. It can also be placed in the masticatory region of implant supported bridges or overdenture, to perform the same function, i.e., transforming mechanical loads into an electrical signal. A second unit, will receive by a wired or wireless electronic communication the electrical signal, and will convert it into a neurological stimulus perceived sensorially by the sensory endings of the trigeminal nerve, unilaterally, or bilaterally. This second unit will be arranged in the submucosa, in the vicinity of the nerve ending, taking advantage of the anatomical depressions or recesses in the region, and will establish a gradient of neurological stimulation towards the nerve ending.
