摘要: A neuromodulation system and method of providing sub-threshold therapy to a patient. An anodic perception threshold of super-threshold electrical energy and a cathodic perception threshold of super-threshold electrical energy are determined for a plurality of electrode sets. A ratio between the anodic perception threshold and the cathodic perception threshold is calculated for each of the electrode sets. An effective electrode set is selected based on the ratio between the anodic perception threshold and the cathodic perception threshold.

摘要: An example of a system for delivering neurostimulation may include a programming control circuit and a stimulation control circuit. The programming control circuit may be configured to generate stimulation parameters controlling delivery of the neurostimulation according to a stimulation configuration. The stimulation control circuit may be configured to specify the stimulation configuration, and may include volume definition circuitry and stimulation configuration circuitry. The volume definition circuitry may be configured to determine one or more test volumes, determine a clinical effect resulting from the one or more test volumes each being activated by the neurostimulation, and determine a target volume using the determined clinical effect. The stimulation configuration circuitry may be configured to generate the specified stimulation configuration for activating the target volume.

摘要: A computing device executes a software program that communicates various deep brain stimulation (DBS) routines to a neurostimulator. The software program generates a graphical user interface (GUI) that receives inputs that are indicative of a patient's response to the various DBS routines. The GUI further includes a representation of each of one or more electrode leads that are connected to the neurostimulator. Based on the patient response inputs, one or more symbols that are indicative of an effectiveness of the stimulation routines are displayed at positions on the lead representations that correspond to parameters of the stimulation routines.

摘要: An example of a system may include electrodes on at least one lead configured to be operationally positioned for use in modulating neural tissue. The neural tissue may include at least one of dorsal horn tissue, dorsal root tissue or dorsal column tissue. The system may include an implantable device including a neural modulation device and a controller. The neural modulation device may be configured to use at least some of the electrodes to generate a modulation field to deliver sub-perception modulation to the neural tissue. The sub-perception modulation may have an intensity below a patient-perception threshold. The patient-perception threshold may be a boundary below which a patient does not sense generation of the modulation field. The controller may be configured to control the neural modulation device to generate the modulation field, and automatically adjust the modulation field in response to a patient input.

摘要: Communications along a neural pathway are provided. The neural pathway is stimulated at a first location, in order to evoke neural responses which propagate along the neural pathway, the neural responses being modulated with data. At a second location spaced apart from the first location along the neural pathway the evoked neural responses are sensed. The sensed neural responses are then demodulated to retrieve the data. The stimulation could comprise peripheral sensory stimulation, and the second location could be at an implanted electrode array.
