摘要: A cardiac pacing system having a pulse generator for generating therapeutic electric pulses, a lead electrically coupled with the pulse generator having an electrode, a first sensor configured to monitor a physiological characteristic of a patient, a second sensor configured to monitor a second physiological characteristic of a patient and a controller. The controller can determine a pacing vector based on variables including a signal received from the second sensor, and cause the pulse generator to deliver the therapeutic electrical pulses according to the determined pacing vector. The controller can also modify pacing characteristics based on variables including a signal received from the second sensor.

摘要: Implementations described and claimed herein provide systems and methods for delivering and retrieving a leadless pacemaker. In one implementation, a leadless pacemaker has a docking end, and the docking end has a docking projection extending from a surface. A docking cap has a body defining a chamber. A retriever has sheaths extending with lumens distally from the chamber. A snare extends between the lumens forming a first snare loop pointing in a first direction and a second snare loop pointing in a second direction with a docking space formed therebetween. The snare is movable between an engaged position and a disengaged position by translating the first snare wire and the second snare wire within the first snare lumen and the second snare lumen. The engaged position includes the first snare wire and the second snare wire tightened around the docking projection within the docking space.

摘要: Systems for applying electrical stimulation to a nerve and determining a change in measured impedance or sensed electrical fields that is indicative of an electrical event, are disclosed herein. The system comprises an implantable housing comprising a signal generator, an implantable neural interface, an impedance measuring circuit or an electrical field sensing circuit, and processing circuitry. Methods for determining the presence of an electrical event in a system for applying electrical stimulation to a nerve, are also disclosed herein. The method comprises periodically sensing an impedance in an electrical pathway and determining an electrical event in the electrical pathway by identifying a change in the sensed impedance.

摘要: The invention discloses a device for collection of tiny charges in the Nano-Coulomb-range and below, comprising at least one capacitor stack build by n capacitors and 2n switches (nϵN), at least one further capacitor outside the capacitor stack as buffer capacity, at least two additional switches and a DC input source. The n capacitors are dedicated to be sequentially charged by the DC input source one after the other, wherein the 2n switches in the capacitor stack couple the n capacitors sequentially to the DC input source. The at least one further capacitor is dedicated to be charged from the n capacitors of the capacitor stack at once. Furthermore, the invention discloses a method for small charge collection, comprising the steps of sequentially charging the n capacitors of the at least one capacitor stack by coupling one capacitor after the other to the DC input source by selectively closing the switches and discharging the n capacitors of the capacitor stack into at least one further capacitor outside the capacitor stack (nϵN). Additionally, the usage of the device or the method according to the invention to collect charges from sources with electrical potentials of a few millivolts is disclosed.

摘要: For use by an implantable system including a first and second leadless pacemakers (LPs) implanted, respectively, in first and second cardiac chambers, a method comprises storing, within memory of the first LP, a paced activation morphology template corresponding to far-field signal components expected to be present in an EGM sensed by the first LP when a pacing pulse delivered to the second cardiac chamber by the second LP captures the second cardiac chamber. The method also includes the first LP comparing a morphology of a portion of an EGM sensed by the first LP to the paced activation morphology template to determine whether a match therebetween is detected, and determining whether capture of the second cardiac chamber occurred or failed to occur, based on whether the first LP detects a match between the morphology of the portion of the EGM and the paced activation morphology template.
