摘要: A system and method may be provided for associating bio-signal data (e.g. EEG brain scan data) from at least one user with at least one music data item (e.g. song, or piece of music). By associating bio-signal data, or emotions determined therefrom, with music, the system may establish a data store of music associated with emotions. That database may then be leveraged upon determining that a user is feeling a particular emotion through an EEG scan. When a particular emotion is detected in EEG data of a user, the system may then respond based at least partly on the same or similar emotion being associated with one or more music data items in the system. For example, the system may recommend a particular song associated with the same emotion presently being experienced by the user.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention provide swallowable devices, preparations, and methods for delivering drugs and other therapeutic agents within the GI tract. Particular embodiments provide a swallowable device such as a capsule for delivering drugs or other therapeutic agents (TA) into a wall of the GI tract such as the stomach or small intestine. The swallowable device comprises a sensor, a combustible propellant (CP) and a therapeutic agent preparation (TAP) comprising at least one TA. The sensor triggers the CP to ignite and propel the TAP into the wall of the GI tract in response to an external condition or change in external condition. Embodiments of the invention are particularly useful for orally delivering drugs or other TAs which are degraded within the GI tract and require parenteral injection.

摘要: A multisensory environment apparatus for providing stress reduction to a user is disclosed. The apparatus includes a support frame that defines a recess. Auditory signal generators, somatosensory signal modules, olfactive signal modules, visual signal modules, and vestibular signal modules are positioned to deliver the associated to a user positioned in the recess. One or more of these signals are delivered to the user by the multisensory environment apparatus during a session. The delivery of the auditory and vibrotactile signals to the user work to meet the user's vital functions where they are, entrain them, and guide them to a more relaxed state, helping to reduce stress. The combination of the signals and the apparatus provide short term relief of acute stress, and long term benefits by breaking the cycle of chronic stress.

摘要: A computer-implemented method for detecting onset of a spontaneous breath by a patient coupled to a ventilation system includes receiving, at a processor, an electromyography (EMG) signal from an EMG sensor disposed on the patient. The method also includes pre-conditioning, via the processor, the EMG signal to separate the EMG signal into a plurality of components having EMG information utilizing a set of bandpass filters. The method further includes individually analyzing, via the processor, each component of the plurality of components to detect an onset of the spontaneous breath by the patient. The method still further includes determining, via the processor, the onset of the spontaneous breath by the patient is occurring when at least two components of the plurality of components indicate the onset of the spontaneous breath by the patient.

摘要: A controller or processor(s) implements detection of respiratory related conditions that may serve as control logic to synchronize pressure treatment delivery with a patient's respiratory cycle. Based on data derived from sensor signals associated with the respiratory treatment, a monitoring device, detector or respiratory treatment apparatus may evaluate flow measures from a flow sensor and distinguish flow attributable to the respiratory treatment apparatus and flow attributable to patient respiratory muscles. The determination may serve as a basis of synchronization criteria that controls pressure levels from a pressure treatment apparatus, such as by evaluating the determined patient generated flow or a relationship between total flow and apparatus flow. In some embodiments, data for the cycling conditions is determined in preliminary treatment cycles during which synchronized pressure changes are controlled according to other cycling criteria. The new cycling conditions are then automatically initiated for control of synchronization in subsequent cycles.
