Abstract: A smart mattress and adaptive actuation systems for a flexible fabric are disclosed. The mattress can include a flexible fabric associated with a sleeping or resting structure configured to engage a user arranged in a prone, semi-prone, or sitting position. An actuation assembly can be configured to manipulate the sleeping or resting structure. In one example, the actuation assembly includes a plurality of size-changing components, and the sleeping or resting structure can be responsive to sizes of the size-changing components. The actuation assemblies can be included in a sealable sleeping or resting structure, which can alter at least a vibration, a light, a sound, or a composition and pressure of a gaseous environment of a user.

Abstract: Systems and methods of the present disclosure are directed to systems and methods for treating cognitive dysfunction in a subject in need thereof. The system can include a light source and a speaker. A visual neural stimulation system provides, via the light source, visual stimulation having a first value of a first parameter. An auditory neural stimulation system provides, via the speaker, audio stimulation having a second value of the second parameter. A stimuli orchestration component selects, for a first time interval, one of the visual stimulation or the audio stimulation to vary based on a policy, selects, for the first time interval, the other of the visual stimulation or the audio stimulation to keep constant based on the policy, and provides causes the one of the visual neural stimulation system or the auditory neural stimulation system to vary the one of the visual stimulation or the audio stimulation.

Abstract: Methods for controlling brain activity in a subject are described herein. An example method can include delivering a stimulus to the subject, wherein the stimulus induces neural activity in the subject's brain and modulates expression of at least one soluble mediator of cellular activity (such as, for example, a cytokine, chemokine, and/or growth factor) within the subject, and the stimulus is delivered to the subject for less than one hour.

Abstract: Systems and methods for assessing compliance with position therapy. In an embodiment, position therapy is provided to a user while the user is wearing a position therapy device. The position therapy comprises, by the device, collecting positional data, determining positions of the user over a time period based on the positional data, and, when it is determined that the user is in a target position, providing feedback to the user to influence the user to change to a non-target position. In addition, the device stores a duration of use in its memory. The duration of use indicates a duration that the user has used the wearable position therapy device in each of one or more positions. An assessment of the user's compliance with the position therapy is then provided based, at least in part, on the duration of use.

Abstract: The present disclosure pertains to facilitating sleep improvement for a user. In a non-limiting embodiment, user data associated with a sleep session of a user is received from one or more sensors. Based on the user data, one or more sleep metrics associated with the sleep session are generated. One or more reference sleep metrics are determined based on prior user data obtained from one or more prior sleep sessions. One or more immediate values related to the sleep session is/are determined based on a comparison of the sleep metrics with the reference sleep metrics. A sleep session score value is generated based on the immediate values, and the sleep session score value and the sleep metrics are caused to be presented on via an output device.

Abstract: A sensory stimulation therapy device for improving functional connectivity of brain to prevent and treat neurological disorders, using LCD sunglasses enabling light and sound entrainment combined with exercise and cognitive therapies, is disclosed. To handle an LCD element with slow response, light stimulation is generated with continuous light with a smooth waveform rather than pulsed light with a steep waveform. Variations in therapeutic effects are also prevented by stably controlling a phase difference Δθ between a fundamental frequency component of the light stimulation and sound stimulation generation timing to a desired value.
