摘要: Methods and related devices for impinging light on tissue, for example within a body of a patient, to induce various biological effects are disclosed. Biological effects may include at least one of inactivating and/or inhibiting growth of one or more pathogens, upregulating a local immune response, stimulating enzymatic generation of nitric oxide to increase endogenous stores of nitric oxide, releasing nitric oxide from endogenous stores of nitric oxide, and inducing an anti-inflammatory effect. Wavelengths of light are selected based on intended biological effects for one or more of targeted tissue types and targeted pathogens. Light treatments may provide multiple pathogenic biological effects, either with light of a single wavelength or with light having multiple wavelengths. Devices and methods for light treatments are disclosed that provide light doses for inducing biological effects on various targeted pathogens and targeted tissues with increased efficacy and reduced cytotoxicity.

摘要: An electronic device includes a light emitting layer, a light conversion layer and an adjustable structure. The light emitting layer has a plurality of light emitting units for emitting light. The light conversion layer converts the wavelength of the light emitted by at least one light emitting unit to provide converted light. The adjustable structure is controlled to adjust a light penetrating area to correspond to the affected part to be treated, wherein at least one of the light and the converted light passes through the light penetrating area to irradiate the affected part.

摘要: Configurations are described for utilizing light-activated proteins within cell membranes and subcellular regions to assist with medical treatment paradigms, such as hypertension treatment via anatomically specific and temporally precise modulation of renal plexus activity. The invention provides for proteins, nucleic acids, vectors and methods for genetically targeted expression of light-sensitve proteins to specific cells or defined cell populations. In particular the invention provides systems, devices, and methods for millisecond-timescale temporal control of certain cell activities using moderate light intensities, such as the generation or inhibition of electrical spikes in nerve cells and other excitable cells.

摘要: An optical neurostimulation and detection system and method are disclosed. The system includes a medical device including an implantable body, and a stimulation controller that connects to the medical lead device and provides a light source. One or more light emitter modules of the lead body couple light signals of the light source into modulated light signals, and the modulated light signals are emitted through the one or more light emitter modules to stimulate neural cells and/or neural tissue of a subject. In a preferred embodiment, the light emitter modules include a surface acoustic wave (SAW) transducer that couples the light source into the modulated light signals. Such a system provides emitted light incident upon the neural tissue of a much higher resolution than current systems and methods and can provide long-term implantation with fewer side effects and less tissue damage than current systems and methods.
