摘要: Disclosed is a composition for the purification of biofluids, for example, for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, comprising an osmotic agent and a toxin-removal reagent, wherein the toxin-removal reagent can remove a toxin from a biofluid under a condition for osmosis. Provided are a dialysis solution and a kit comprising the aforementioned composition, a method for removing a toxin from a biofluid using the aforementioned composition, and a method for treating a toxin-related disease.

摘要: A remote service is implemented to automatically aggregate data across hemodialysis patients and hemodialysis patients and determine updated treatment options for patients to increase well-being and optimize performance of the hemodialysis machines. Patients or caregivers operating a hemodialysis machine or a local or remote user computing device associated with the hemodialysis machine can provide feedback regarding the patient's well-being to the remote service. The feedback can be provided at any of one or more times pre-treatment, during treatment, or post-treatment. Furthermore, the hemodialysis machine can be configured with one or more sensors that transmit data pertaining to device state of the hemodialysis machine, such as information about blood, dialysate used, saline solution, pump pressure, air trap and air detector, hemodialysis machine information (e.g., make and model), etc.

摘要: A container system includes at least one flexible wall defining a compartment containing a dissolvable solid or concentrate, a support adjacent a first end of the at least one flexible wall, and a nozzle assembly coupled to a second end of the at least one flexible wall. The second end of the wall is distal from the first end. The nozzle assembly comprises a hollow body defining a longitudinal axis. The hollow body further defines a plurality of orifices through a wall thereof. Each orifice is able to form a fluid connection between an interior volume within the hollow body and the compartment. Each orifice is configured to deliver liquid from the interior volume to the compartment in a direction having an angle of between 5° and 85° from a direction of the longitudinal axis. Related nozzles and methods are also disclosed.

摘要: The present invention relates to an apparatus for performing an automated peritoneal dialysis treatment on a patient, the apparatus comprising: a first dialysis fluid port for receiving a first dialysis fluid having a first composition, which is determined by the concentrations of a set of first dialysis fluid constituents; a dialysis fluid line system connecting the first dialysis fluid port to a patient terminal; at least one dialysis fluid pump acting on the dialysis fluid line system and configured to convey the first dialysis fluid from the first dialysis fluid port to the patient terminal; and a control unit operably connected to the at least one pump; wherein the apparatus further comprises a second dialysis fluid port for receiving a second dialysis fluid having a second composition, which is determined by the concentrations of a set of second dialysis fluid constituents. The invention further relates to a system for automated peritoneal dialysis treatment and a data carrier comprising controlling software for such apparatus or system.

摘要: Described herein are systems and methods for performing peritoneal dialysis. According to one aspect, the disclosure provides a sterile interface connection for connecting a water purification system to a disposable source of dialysate concentrates. The sterile interface connection can include a chamber comprising an inlet adapted to be connected to the water purification system on a proximal end and a valve on a distal end. The sterile interface connection can also include spring-loaded needle disposed in the chamber. The spring-loaded needle can move between a retracted configuration in which the spring-loaded needle is fully retracted into the chamber and the valve is closed and sealed, and an extended configuration in which the spring-loaded needle extends through the valve into the disposable source of dialysate concentrates.

摘要: A peritoneal dialysis system includes a cycler including a pump actuator, a heater and a heating pan operable with the heater, and a disposable set operable with the cycler. The heating pan includes a sidewall forming a slot. The disposable set includes a pumping cassette and a heater/mixing container. The pumping cassette includes a pump chamber configured to be actuated by the pump actuator. Additionally, the heater/mixing container is in fluid communication with the pumping cassette and is sized to be received at the heating pan. The heater/mixing container includes a port configured such that when the port is slid into the slot of the heater pan sidewall, the port is prevented from rotating about an axis transverse to a direction of flow through the port.

摘要: Hemodialysis and similar dialysis systems including a variety of systems and methods that make hemodialysis more efficient, easier, and/or more affordable, and include new fluid circuits for fluid flow in hemodialysis systems and a reciprocating diaphragm pump for pumping fluids. The reciprocating diaphragm pump includes a flexible diaphragm, a first rigid body having a curved pumping chamber wall, a second rigid body having an opposing curved control chamber wall. The diaphragm is interposed between the pumping chamber wall and the control chamber wall to define a pumping chamber and a control chamber. The diaphragm of the pump has a peripheral bead arranged to locate the diaphragm between the first rigid body and the second rigid body and a diaphragm body having a curved, semi-spheroid or domed shape. The diaphragm is pre-formed or molded so that during a delivery stroke of the pump, the elastic force of the diaphragm resisting its deployment into the pumping chamber prevents a peripheral portion of the diaphragm body from fully contacting the pumping chamber wall.

摘要: Described are fluid pumping and fluid handling systems, which may be suitable for use in medical devices, such as artificial or extracorporeal blood pumping systems. The systems can include a dual housing configuration for pneumatic actuation comprising a main housing containing a pump cassette comprising a pneumatically actuated pump and pneumatically actuated valves. The pump can include a pump actuation chamber and pump pneumatic port, and the valves can each include a valve actuation chamber and valve pneumatic port. Connecting tubes can be used to fluidly connect the pump actuation ports and valve actuation ports to a tube-support housing having a first side receiving one end of each connecting tube and a second side providing a pneumatic interface arranged to connect to an array of pneumatic receptacles on a base unit of the system to facilitate easy, compact and accurate pneumatic interconnection between the pump cassette and the base unit.

摘要: A method and a system comprising an integrated water purifying apparatus with a pre-filter circuit including a particle filter and an activated carbon filter arranged to produce pre-treated water; a fluid circuit arranged to receive pre-treated water from the pre-filter circuit, the fluid circuit including an RO-pump and a Reverse Osmosis (RO) device arranged to produce purified water; a heating device arranged to heat purified water from the RO device to a temperature above 65°0 C.; the water purifying apparatus further arranged to heat disinfect the fluid circuit using the heated purified water. The system further comprises a line set connected to the purified water outlet connector at a water line connector of the line set, wherein the line set includes at least one sterile sterilizing grade filter arranged to further filter the purified water.
