摘要: A valve loading system is provided that uses a valve loader to transfer a valve or other medical device from a storage cartridge into a deployment catheter. The valve or other medical device can be implanted or positioned within a patient using the catheter after the valve or other medical device has been compressed and loaded into the catheter using the valve loader. The process then can be repeated by using the valve loading system to load or introduce another valve or other medical device into the catheter.

摘要: A prosthetic limb including a plurality of segments that provide a user of the prosthetic limb with substantially the same movement capability and function as a human arm. The segments are connectable to one another and connectable to a prosthetic support apparatus. The prosthetic limb includes a controller and at least one antenna in connection with the controller for transmitting and receiving signals, the at least one antenna including a housing of a segment of the prosthetic limb as a radiating element. The prosthetic limb further including a user interface incorporated therein and one or more communication systems for communicating with external devices. The user interface is integrally formed in the housing and includes a status indicator for displaying information. A flexible protective cover is disposed around a portion of the housing and covers the user interface, the flexible protective cover includes a translucent portion over the status indicator.

摘要: An eye drop delivery system is described for the automated sequential dispensing of eye drop solution from bottles and sterile ampoules. The dispensing device includes an activation switch and visual and audible indicators to facilitate the dispensing action. The system includes a battery and electronic control circuitry for carrying out the method of dispensing. A sprocket drive motor directs the advancement of a strip cartridge containing eye drop solution ampoules, moving each of the ampoules one at a time into position for dispensing. A cam drive motor rotates a cam to strike a push rod to compress the ampoule. The system includes an eyelid retracting leg assembly with two J-shaped flex legs with cushioned skin engaging feet. Alternate ampoule structures allow the user to load liquid into individual ampoules for use.
