摘要: The disclosure provides example apparatus and methods for automatically adjusting a socket size of a prosthesis. The apparatus includes (a) the prosthesis having a socket configured to receive a limb, (b) a first opening in a socket wall, (c) a first panel aligned with the first opening, (d) a first actuator coupled to the first panel and to the prosthesis, the first actuator is configured to advance and retract the first panel, (e) a first sensor coupled to the socket wall and configured to obtain limb-to-socket gap data, and (f) a processor coupled to the first actuator and the first sensor, wherein the processor is configured (i) to receive the limb-to-socket gap data, (ii) to determine a socket-size adjustment based on the limb-to-socket gap data and a predetermined socket-fit value, (iii) to generate and (iv) to send a command with the socket-size adjustment to the first actuator.

摘要: A wrist device for a prosthetic limb is provided. The device (1) comprises a base member (3) connectable to the wearer of the device, and a support member (13) connectable to the limb. The support member (13) is pivotably connected to the base member (3) such that the support member can pivot about a pivot axis (A) relative to the base member. A damping mechanism is located between the base (3) member and the support member (5). The damping mechanism comprises a pinion (47) connected to the support member (5) and rotatable about the pivot axis (A) relative to the base member (3). A rack (35) is engaged with the pinion (47) such that rotational motion of the pinion causes a linear motion of the rack, and at least one biasing member (41) extends between the base member (3) and the rack. The biasing member (41) biases the rack (35) and support member (13) into a neutral position. A prosthetic limb incorporating the wrist device is also provided.

A variable transmission is configured to automatically or manually adapt the torque profile to the demand of different locomotion tasks, such as a relatively high torque and low speed profile for a task such as standing up or ascending stairs, or a relatively low torque and high speed profile for a task such as walking.

摘要: Features for a prosthetic wrist and associated methods are described. The wrist couples with a prosthetic socket and a prosthetic hand. The wrist may rotate the hand. The wrist includes features to prevent or mitigate undesirable separation of the wrist from the socket. The wrist may have an expanding coupling, such as an expanding ring, to better secure the wrist with the socket. An actuator may cause the coupling to expand outward to prevent or mitigate undesirable separation of the wrist from the socket. Alternatively or in addition, the wrist may include torque control features to prevent undesirable or premature separation of the hand from the wrist, for example when using a “quick wrist disconnect” (QWD) apparatus. A torque control method may tailor or limit multiple torques to be applied by the wrist to the hand based on operational requirements and phases, such as anticipated torque loads and operational timing.

摘要: A prosthetic hand device mountable on a residual limb of an amputee is provided. The prosthetic hand device includes a myoelectric hand having five mechanical fingers actuatable to provide multiple degrees of freedom of movement, a control assembly including an ultrasound module as a human-machine interface, wherein the ultrasound module is configured to acquire ultrasound images of a region of the residual limb, a transfer learning model having a convolutional neural network architecture for obtaining extracted features from the ultrasound images, and an artificial intelligence model executed by one or more processors and configured to classify the extracted features from the ultrasound images for determining a volitional movement of the amputee in real-time. The volitional movement is transmitted to the myoelectric hand to dynamically and proportionally control the five mechanical fingers based on at least the volitional movement.

摘要: Exemplary embodiments herein relate to a unique 4-bar linkage transmission provided between two adjacent links of a powered augmentation device that provides a varying mechanical advantage. Due to the kinematics of the linkage, the mechanical advantage between the actuator and the augmented joint varies with the position of the linkage. Thus, a high mechanical advantage can be provided in positions at which relatively high joint torque is required, and low mechanical advantage in positions at which relatively high joint speed is required. Consequently, the speed-torque (or velocity-force) operating area of the actuator can be consolidated by mapping the widespread output regions onto a smaller input region. This allows the actuator to be optimized for a narrower range of usage.
