The robot comprising: a frame having a ground interface for coming into contact with a ground surface while defining a clearance under a portion of the frame for engaging with the vehicle to displace the robot about the furnace when the ground interface is off the ground; an arm mounted to the frame, the arm comprising an end effector which is adapted for mounting the tool; a sensor for collecting at least one of exteroceptive data in a vicinity of the robot and proprioceptive data from the robot; and a controller receiving the collected data from the sensor and controlling a movement of at least the arm based on the collected data.

Abstract: A robotic system including a storage structure provided with vertical members supporting a grid collectively defining grid spaces and a plurality of storage containers arranged in vertical stacks for storing inventory items, each one of the vertical stacks configured to be arranged within a respective one of the grid spaces. One or more load handling robots are installed upon the grid and include a lifting device extendable in a vertical direction to extract one or more storage containers from the vertical stacks and transport the extracted storage container to a station. The robotic system further includes one or more manipulator robots installed at the station and within a single grid space. The one or more manipulator robots include a picking arm provided with a pneumatic gripping tool arranged to pick an inventory item from the transported storage container and place the picked item into an order container.

The battery does not include a management device that manages parameters of the battery.

Abstract: In an implementation, a robotic system includes a robot, a power source exchange station, and a controller. A method of operation of the robotic system includes identifying by the controller a low-power condition of the robot, and, in response to the identifying of a low-power condition, causing by the controller the robot and the power source exchange station to exchange a first primary electrical power source from the robot for a second primary electrical power source from the power source exchange station. The first and the second primary electrical power source may be a first and a second primary battery, respectively. The robotic system may engage a secondary power source operable to maintain a power supply to the robot during the exchange. The secondary power source may be a secondary battery on-board the robot.
