    摘要: An apparatus and method of adaptively coding/decoding interlace shape information estimates the amount of motion with respect to the binary alpha block (BAB). A type of the BAB is determined according to the estimated amount of motion. When the BAB falls under a type which needs coding differences between pixel pairs in each line pair comprising an odd and an adjacent even line are calculated and summed up to compute an error of the frame. Differences between pixel pairs in consecutive odd line pairs and differences between pixel pairs in consecutive even line pairs are calculated and summed up to compute an error of individual fields. When the error of the frame is larger than that of the separate fields, field type coding where coding is independently performed with respect to each field is selected. When the error of the separate fields is larger than that of the frame, frame type coding where coding is performed with respect to the frame is selected.

    摘要: An improved grid moving method using a selective pixel search method and an apparatus using the grid moving method which are capable of forming a grid with respect to an image of an object having a shape information and/or an image information, defining a unit region, moving the thusly formed grid, re-constructing an image grid, so that it is possible to reduce the number of blocks which are occupied by an object to be coded, thus significantly reducing the amount of computation and increasing a computation speed. The method includes the steps of forming a grid with respect to an image of an object having a predetermined shape, defining blocks each having a predetermined size, and moving the grid; a search and count step for selectively searching a pixel without searching all pixels, terminating the search when a pixel of the object is first searched, performing a step for determining the block in which an object exists as an object block with respect to the entire blocks, and counting the number of blocks in which the object exists; and determining a new grid start point having a minimum number of blocks in accordance with a result of the counting.

    摘要: An improved grid moving method of an object image and an apparatus using the same which are capable of reducing the amount of information with respect to the image of an object by moving the grid in accordance with a position in which an image of the object having shape information exists, which include the steps of: a moving step for forming a grid over an image of an object having shape information, segmenting the image into a plurality of unit regions, and moving the formed grid; a judging step for judging an amount of the information at each position to which the grid is moved in the moving step; a detecting step for detecting a position at which the amount of the information is reduced; a compaction step for reforming the grid in accordance with the position detected in the detecting step and for coding the image of the object existing in unit regions of the reformed grid; and a motion estimation step for reforming the grid in accordance with the position detected in the detecting step and for estimating the motion of the image of the object in the unit regions in which the image of the object exists among the unit regions segmented by the reformed grid.
