Abstract: This application discloses a method for constructing an MPM list, a method for obtaining an intra prediction mode of a chroma block, and an apparatus. In a specific implementation, a MIP mode is used for a current block, and the method for constructing an MPM list includes: obtaining intra prediction mode information of a neighboring block; determining, based on the intra prediction mode information of the neighboring block, whether an intra prediction mode of the neighboring block is the MIP mode; and skipping using the intra prediction mode of the neighboring block for MPM list construction of the current block if the intra prediction mode of the neighboring block is not the MIP mode; or using the intra prediction mode of the neighboring block for MPM list construction of the current block if the intra prediction mode of the neighboring block is the MIP mode.

The post-processing circuit derives an auxiliary compressed chrominance channel data from an auxiliary input, and generates and outputs an output bitstream that includes the first compressed luminance channel data and the auxiliary compressed chrominance channel data.

Abstract: Methods are described to communicate source color volume information in a coded bitstream using SEI messaging. Such data include at least the minimum, maximum, and average luminance values in the source data plus optional data that may include the color volume x and y chromaticity coordinates for the input color primaries (e.g., red, green, and blue) of the source data, and the color x and y chromaticity coordinates for the color primaries corresponding to the minimum, average, and maximum luminance values in the source data. Messaging data signaling an active region in each picture may also be included.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for video processing are described. The video processing may include video encoding, video decoding, or video transcoding. One example video processing method includes performing a conversion between a video picture of a video and a bitstream of the video. A first syntax element in a first video unit level specifying a deblocking parameter offset for β divided by 2 applied to a chroma component for one or more slices in a first video unit and a second syntax element in the first video unit level specifying a deblocking parameter offset for tC divided by 2 applied to the chroma component for the one or more slices in the first video unit are determined according to a rule in response to the first syntax element and the second syntax element not included in the bitstream.

Abstract: In one example aspect, a method of video processing includes performing a conversion between a current block of a video and a bitstream of the video using a palette mode in which a palette of representative sample values is used for coding the current block. During the conversion, one or multiple predictor palettes are used for predicting the palette of representative sample values, and wherein updating of the one or multiple predictor palettes after the conversion of the current block is disabled according to a rule based on a characteristic of the current block.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein for processing video data using a neural network system. For instance, a process can include generating, by a first convolutional layer of an encoder sub-network of the neural network system, output values associated with a luminance channel of a frame. The process can include generating, by a second convolutional layer of the encoder sub-network, output values associated with at least one chrominance channel of the frame. The process can include generating, by a third convolutional layer based on the output values associated with the luminance channel of the frame and the output values associated with the at least one chrominance channel of the frame, a combined representation of the frame. The process can further include generating encoded video data based on the combined representation of the frame.

After the generation of precincts (311), each comprising transform coefficients covering a predetermined spatial area of the input image information (302), there is provided a component transformation stage (320, 325), to apply one component transformation (CTr) selected (327) out of a plurality of predetermined component transformations, to each band (102′) of each precinct (311). Hence, there is obtained a spatially transformed and color transformed version (323) of the input image information (302), which is subsequently quantized and entropy encoded.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for encoding a frame of 3D media content. The systems and methods may be configured to access a first frame of 3D media content and generate a data structure for the first frame based on color attributes information of the first frame, wherein each element of the data structure encodes a single color. The systems and methods may be configured to train a machine learning model based on the first frame of 3D media content, wherein the machine learning model is trained to receive as input a coordinate of a voxel of the first frame, and to output an identifier of a particular element in the generated data structure. The systems and methods may be configured to generate encoded data for the first frame based at least in part on weights of the trained machine learning model and the generated data structure.

Abstract: An encoding method, a decoding method, and a decoder are provided. The method includes the following. A prediction parameter of a current block is determined, where the prediction parameter includes a prediction mode parameter. Neighbouring sample values of the current block are obtained and matrix-based intra prediction (MIP) input sample values of the current block are determined according to the neighbouring sample values of the current block, when the prediction mode parameter indicates that an MIP mode is used to determine an intra prediction value of a colour component of the current block. An MIP prediction value of the colour component of the current block is determined according to the MIP input sample values, an MIP weighting matrix, a shifting offset parameter, and a shifting number parameter. The intra prediction value of the colour component of the current block is determined by filtering the MIP prediction value.
