摘要: The quantization parameters (QP) for Chroma are extended up to and more preferably to the same range as Luma QP (e.g., 0 to 51). Previous, values of Chroma QP only extended up to 39. Techniques are provided for determining extended Chroma QP values (e.g., for Cr and Cb) based on the Luma QP and picture level chroma offsets. In one preferred embodiment, slice level offsets are added making the method particularly well-suited for slice level parallel processing. The extension of Chroma QP enhances functionality, flexibility and friendliness of the High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) standard for various applications.

摘要: A data compression method and a data decompression method are provided. The method includes pruning an original data including a plurality of weight parameters, identifying at least one first weight parameter of which at least one first value is not changed by the pruning, among multiple weight parameters included in the pruned original data, and obtaining a first index data including location information of the at least one first weight parameter of which the at least one first value is not changed, identifying at least one second weight parameter of which at least one second value is changed by the pruning, among the multiple weight parameters included in the pruned original data, and substituting the at least one second weight parameter of which the at least one second value is changed with a don't care parameter.

摘要: Systems and methods for picture segmentation through columns and slices in video encoding and decoding. A video picture is divided into a plurality of columns, each column covering only a part of the video picture in a horizontal dimension. All coded tree blocks (“CTBs”) belonging to a slice may belong to one or more columns. The columns may be used to break the same or different prediction or in-loop filtering mechanisms of the video coding, and the CTB scan order used for encoding and/or decoding may be local to a column. Column widths may be indicated in a parameter set and/or may be adjusted at the slice level. At the decoder, column width may be parsed from the bitstream, and slice decoding may occur in one or more columns.

摘要: Examples of methods and apparatuses for estimating bit counts of a bitstream are described herein. An entropy encoder may include a bitstream encoding module and a bit count estimation module. The bitstream encoding module may be configured to encode a plurality of syntax elements according to a first encoding technique. The bit count estimation module may be configured to provide estimated bit counts for encoding the plurality of syntax elements according to a second encoding technique. In at least one embodiment, the bitstream encoding module may be further configured to encode the plurality of syntax elements based on the estimated bit counts.

Instead of using a flag in the slice header to indicate that a broken link picture is present, a distinct network abstraction layer (NAL) unit type can be used to indicate the presence of a broken link picture. In some implementations, a first distinct NAL unit type may be used to indicate the presence of a broken link picture with leading pictures, while a second distinct NAL unit type indicates the presence of a broken link picture without leading pictures. In some implementations, a third distinct NAL unit type may be used to indicate the presence of a broken link picture with decodable leading pictures.

摘要: Systems, methods, and devices for processing video data are disclosed. Some examples receive a slice of a current picture to be decoded for a sequence of video data. These examples may also receive, in a slice header of the slice, at least one entropy coded syntax element and at least one non-entropy coded syntax element, wherein the non-entropy coded syntax element is before the entropy coded syntax element in the slice header and indicates whether pictures prior to the current picture in decoding order are to be emptied from a decode picture buffer without being output. They may decode the slice based on the non-entropy coded syntax element.

摘要: An apparatus and method for temporal motion vector prediction for a current block in a picture are disclosed. In the present method, one temporal block in a first reference picture in a first list selected from a list group comprising list 0 and list 1 is determined. When the determined temporal block has at least one motion vector, a candidate set is determined based on the motion vector of the temporal block. The temporal motion vector predictor or temporal motion vector predictor candidate or temporal motion vector or temporal motion vector candidate for the current block is determined from the candidate set by checking a presence of a motion vector pointing to a reference picture in a first specific list in said at least one motion vector, wherein the first specific list is selected from the list group based on a priority order.
