    摘要: A differential-locking positive clutch (3) for disabling a vehicle differential gearing (2) is operated by a brake-actuating device (4) for a vehicle-braking brake (1) through a connecting mechanism (34) including a spring (6). The spring may store an actuating force for a clutch-operating member (5), which is preferably composed of a slidable shaft, when interlockable members of the clutch are not in alignment with each other. The connecting mechanism preferably includes a movable first engaging member (7) which is engaged to the clutch-operating member such that a movable second engaging member (48) operated by a clutch-operating device (45) may also be engaged to the clutch-operating member so as to permit an operation of the locking clutch independently of the brake. Both of a safe stopping of vehicle at its straight travel condition and a reduction of the vehicle braking distance are successfully attained.

    摘要: A hydraulic coupling (32) includes a control valve (80) that controls pumping from a casing inlet port (58) by a hydraulic pump (48) through a casing outlet port (78) to control coupling between two rotary members. The casing (34) is connected to one of the rotary members while an impeller (50) having between five and seven external teeth is connected to the other rotary member and meshed with an internal ring gear (54) having one more tooth than the number of impeller teeth to provide sufficient pumping capacity so that the pump can act as a brake while still having relatively constant pumping pressure. The control valve (80) includes a bimetallic valve element (82) that compensates for temperature changes and may also include a speed sensitive valve closure (104) for providing immediate coupling without delay above certain speeds of operation. Mounting of the bimetallic valve element (82) of control valve (80) within a recess (98) provides accurate control of the temperature compensation.

    摘要: A power steering and limited slip differential system is provided with a main booster generating a steering effort for front wheels, a directional control valve having a pair of reaction chambers and a friction clutch disposed between a differential gear mechanism and a driving wheel axle for rear wheels and is further added with an auxiliary booster generating a compensation steering effort for the front wheels and a clutch control air cylinder for coupling and decoupling the friction clutch. In the system, an injection pressure control valve injects compensating pressure oil into the auxiliary booster and the reaction chambers of the directional control valve in response to a vehicle speed and steering effort at the beginning of steering and steering back and concurrently controls the pressure of the injected compensating pressure oil, and a pressure air control valve charges and discharges operating compressed air to and from the clutch control air cylinder in response to the vehicle speed and the steering angle of the front wheels, and further in response to the slipping at one side and the both sides of the rear wheels and thereby controls the air pressure of the clutch control air cylinder.

    摘要: A drive wheel torque control system for a vehicle includes control means for controlling a variable differential motion limiting device provided between drive wheels to distribute a predetermined LSD torque from a racing drive wheel to a nonracing drive wheel. The control means includes vehicle speed determining means for determining a vehicle speed from a follower wheel spaced, drive wheel speed determining means adapted to select a smaller one of the drive wheel speeds as a drive wheel speed, when the inner-side wheel in turning movement is racing, and to select a larger one of the drive wheel speeds, when the outer-side wheel in turning movement is racing, and torque determining means for determining the LSD torque from the vehicle speed and the drive wheel speed. This ensures that only when the inner wheel is racing, the smaller one of the drive wheel speeds can be selected, and an LSD torque can be distributed to the outer wheel, thereby easily effecting the adjustment of the locus of turning movement of the vehicle when the inner wheel is racing, while properly controlling the behavior of the vehicle.

    摘要: A control system comprises a clutch for limiting a differential action between left and right drive wheels or varying a driving torque distribution between front and rear drive axles of a four wheel drive vehicle, a sensor group and a controller for controlling an engagement force of the clutch to control the differential limiting force or the torque distribution. The sensor group senses a decelerating condition of the vehicle, a vehicle lateral acceleration and a vehicle speed. The controller increases the clutch engagement force, so as to restrain tack-in, in accordance with the lateral acceleration when the vehicle is in a decelerating operation and the lateral acceleration is high. When the vehicle speed increases, the controller increases a rate of increase of the clutch engagement force with respect to the lateral acceleration to improve both of a high speed cornering stability and a low speed steering response.
