摘要: An analytical method is disclosed that includes the steps of: providing a sample potentially containing a chiral analyte that can exist in stereoisomeric forms; providing a probe selected from the group consisting of quinones and analogs thereof, (hetero)aryl isocyanates and analogs thereof, and (hetero)aryl isothiocyanates and analogs thereof; contacting the sample with the probe under conditions to permit covalent binding of the probe to the analyte, if present in the sample; and determining, based on any binding that occurs, the absolute configuration of the analyte in the sample and/or the concentration of the analyte in the sample and/or the enantiomeric and/or the diastereomeric composition of the analyte in the sample.

摘要: The existence ratio of optical isomers (D-form, L-form) is easily measured.Counterclockwise or clockwise circularly polarized light is applied from a light application unit 6 to ions which are derived from a target compound and are drifting in a drift region 3. The ions absorb light, and a collision cross-section of the ions thus changes, whereby the mobility also changes. Each of the D-form and the L-form has a light absorption rate which is different between counterclockwise circularly polarized light and clockwise circularly polarized light. Therefore, each light absorption rate is examined in advance, and an existence ratio of the D-form and the L-form is calculated, based on the two intensity ratios each of which is the ratio of a peak of the ions having absorbed no light and a peak of the ions having absorbed light, which peaks appear on a drift time spectrum, and based on the light absorption rates of the D-form and the L-form.

摘要: Example embodiments of methods, apparatus, and systems for measuring polarimetric parameters using spectroscopy are disclosed herein. Particular embodiments concern circular dichroism (CD) spectrometers that use a vertically aligned beam. In such embodiments, the solution being analyzed may have a top surface that forms a convex or concave meniscus, creating a surface through which the measuring beam passes that may refract the beam in undesirable ways. Accordingly, particular embodiments of the disclosed technology include one or more meniscus-compensating (meniscus-effect-reducing) components or subsystems. These components and/or subsystems can be used alone or in combination with one another to reduce the undesirable refractive effects caused by the meniscus at the solution's surface, thereby improving the resulting quality of the spectroscopy measurement and potentially improving the speed with which CD spectroscopy can be performed.

A device includes a reactor for containing one or more chemical species of a time-dependent process, an extraction pump for automatically and continuously extracting an amount of the one or more chemical species from the reactor, one or more detectors for measuring property changes of the one or more extracted chemical species and generating a continuous stream of data related to the one or more property changes to the one or more chemical species during a time interval, and a process controller configured to fit the continuous stream of data to a mathematical function to predict one or more properties of the one or more chemical species at a future time point and make one or more process decisions based on the prediction of one or more properties at the future time point.

Particular implementations include monolithic ring cavities or microresonators or use of intra-cavity gain media.
