Disclosed herein are multi-component peroxycarboxylic acid generation systems for enzymatically producing aqueous formulations of peroxycarboxylic acids suitable for use in, e.g., disinfectant and/or bleaching applications. The multi-component peroxycarboxylic acid generation systems comprise at least one carbohydrate esterase family 7 enzyme having perhydrolytic activity.
Abstract:
A process for providing detergent compositions comprising synthesizing mono and di esters from biologically derived 1,3-propanediol an incorporating said esters into detergent formulations. The basic process involves producing and purifying biologically derived 1,3-propanediol, synthesizing mono and di esters by the condensation of 1,3-propanediol with an acid using a catalyst, recovering the ester and incorporating said ester into a detergent formulation. The compositions made from the biologically derived 1,3-propanediol are also encompassed by the invention.

A cleaning composition with a limited number of natural ingredients contains alkyl polyglucoside, solvent and colloidal silica. The cleaning composition optionally has an additional amount of glycerol. The cleaning composition optionally has a small amount of fragrance. The cleaning composition can be used to clean hard surfaces and cleans as well or better than commercial compositions containing synthetically derived cleaning agents.
Abstract:
A cleaner-passivator composition and method for treating a fuel cell cooling system are described. The cleaner-passivator comprises a complexing agent, a surfactant, a corrosion inhibitor, and a solvent. The cleaner-passivator reduces the contaminants circulating in the fuel cell coolant system that contribute to increasing conductivity in the fuel cell coolant. In addition, the passivator reduces the surface corrosion in the fuel cell system.

A rinse agent composition is provided. The rinse agent composition includes a sheeting agent for promoting draining of sheets of water from a surface, and a humectant. The humectant is a component which retains at least 5 wt. % water when the humectant has been contained at an equilibrium of 50% relative humidity and room temperature. The sheeting agent and humectant are preferably provided at a ratio of between about 5:1 and about 1:3. A method for rinsing a substrate surface in the presence of high solids containing water is provided. High solids containing water is generally considered to be water having a total dissolved solids content in excess of 200 ppm.

A composition for cleaning a probe card that may be a part of a semiconductor probe system and a method of cleaning the probe card using the composition is provided. In one embodiment, the composition includes a basic compound, an alcohol compound, and water. The composition for cleaning the probe card may prevent the probe card from being worn away or corroded, and may effectively remove impurities such as aluminum, aluminum oxide, or organic impurities from the probe card.

A method and composition for deodorizing soft surfaces such as carpeting and upholstery are disclosed. The method includes the spraying of a liquid composition on a soft surface and allowing the composition to absorb into the soft surface, form liquid agglomerations within the soft surface to the agglomerations can make contact with malodorants disposed within the soft surface. The composition is capable of penetrating rapidly and deeply into the soft surfaces for contacting odor-causing substances embedded therein. The composition comprises an active ingredient such as a glycol or triethanolamine. Other ingredients that contribute to the surface penetration and/or agglomeration formation include ethanol, water, fragrance and a combination of at least one nonionic and at least one ionic surfactant.

A composition suitable for use in personal cleaning or detergent soap bars, which includes a primary surfactant comprising a sulfonated fatty acid, an alpha sulfonated alkyl ester, or a mixture thereof, and a secondary synthetic surfactant, and methods for producing such a composition. The composition and methods exhibit efficient processing and allow for formation of cleansing or detergent bars with improved hardness, improved resistance to marring, improved processability, lower wear-rate and decreased mush formation during consumer use.
