摘要: Disclosed herein are transdermal microneedling devices that generate and emit low RF energy. Such a microneedling device may comprise a drive motor, drive circuitry for controlling the drive motor, and a drive linkage located on the drive motor rotor. The microneedling device may also comprise a power source capsule comprising a battery and associated power management circuitry. Also included may be a needle cartridge coupled to the main body, and comprising a drive shaft and a needle unit coupled to a distal end of the drive shaft to move therewith, where the needle unit has at least one needle extending therefrom. The drive shaft may comprise a linkage member configured to engage the drive linkage of the drive motor, and be configured to be driven by the drive motor and thereby drive movement of the needle unit such that the at least one needle extends beyond and retracts within the distal end of the needle cartridge. The microneedling device may also include RF energy circuitry powered by the power source and configured to generate RF energy, as well as transfer circuitry configured to transfer the generated RF energy from the RF energy circuitry to the at least one needle.

摘要: The present invention is directed to a method and apparatus for delivering substances, e.g., therapeutic substances, into openings on or near a skin surface, such as hair follicles, pores and/or into sebaceous glands. This can be achieved by using an apparatus to direct a substance into the openings under pressure via one or more nozzles or slits. A portion of the sebum present in the hair follicle is optionally heated and/or removed, e.g. using low-pressure conduit located on the lower surface of the apparatus, before introducing the therapeutic substance.

摘要: An apparatus for cleansing and promoting tissue growth in wounds, in which irrigant fluid optionally containing cell nutrients and/or other physiologically active material from a reservoir connected to a conformable wound dressing and wound exudate from the dressing are recirculated by a device for moving fluid through a flow path which passes through the dressing, a biodegradable scaffold in contact with the wound bed and a means for fluid cleansing and back to the dressing. The apparatus has means for supplying thermal energy to the fluid in the wound. The cleansing means (which may be a single-phase, e.g. micro-filtration, system or a two-phase, e.g. dialytic system) removes materials deleterious to wound healing, and the cleansed fluid, still containing materials that are beneficial in promoting wound healing, is returned to the wound bed. The dressing and a method of treatment using the apparatus.

摘要: A humidification device for a respiratory breathing circuit comprises an induction heater assembly to inject steam into a breathing circuit gas line. The assembly comprises a housing defining a housing lumen. An induction element is located around the housing lumen. A cannula is disposed within the housing lumen and surrounded by the induction element, the cannula being configured to receive a flow of water. A heating element is located inside the cannula, the heating element being at least partially surrounded by the induction element. The induction element is excited by electrical current to generate an oscillating magnetic field to create eddy currents in the heating element to heat the heating element, and thereby heat the flow of water in the cannula flowing past the heating element, to thereby vaporize the water into steam which exits the induction heater assembly and housing to be injected into the breathing circuit gas line.
