摘要: Methods of sequestering carbon dioxide (CO2) are provided. Aspects of the methods include contacting a CO2 containing gaseous stream with an aqueous medium under conditions sufficient to produce a bicarbonate rich product. The resultant bicarbonate rich product (or a component thereof) is then combined with a cation source under conditions sufficient to produce a solid carbonate composition and product CO2 gas, followed by injection of the product CO2 gas into a subsurface geological location to sequester CO2. Also provided are systems configured for carrying out the methods.

摘要: A low-cost process for cleansing a liquid of volatile contaminants can be accomplished by cross flowing a liquid through a contactor vessel. As the liquid to be cleansed of contaminates cross flows through the horizontal contactor vessel, a radial flow pattern is induced in the liquid and the liquid is contacted with a cleansing gas introduced cross current to the flow of the liquid through the contactor vessel. As the liquid moves through the contactor vessel, contaminants enter the cleansing cross current gas percolating through the liquid. The cross current gas may then be collected and cleansed of the contaminates it collected. The cleaned cleansing gas may then be recycled back into the contactor vessel. The liquid to be cleansed may by any liquid or liquefied hydrocarbon, such as liquefied petroleum gas, gasoline, diesel, refinery component streams, distillates, gas oils, crude oils and/or emulsions. The volatile contaminates that may be cleansed from liquid include any undesirable element within the cross flowing liquid that can be absorbed and/or dissolved in the cleansing cross current gas percolated through the liquid. The cross flowing liquid may be cleansed to varying degrees, depending on specific down streams requirements.

Contaminated exhaust air is typically a byproduct emitted from sludge in tanks and wells that are part of a wastewater treatment, conveyance, or chemical process. Said contaminated air has to be treated to capture or reduce odorous compounds or pollutants below human smell recognition threshold levels before the exhaust is discharged to the atmosphere. The present invention is a carbon scrubber used to treat and filter contaminated exhaust air produced in wastewater treatment and conveyance; and other chemical processes.

摘要: The present invention relates to an apparatus capable of purifying air and maintaining freshness inside a refrigerator while minimizing deformation of the structure of an existing refrigerator, and a method for controlling the same. The apparatus for air purification and freshness maintenance according to the present invention is formed separately from a storage space (12) of a refrigerator (10) and is installed on a cooling passage (14) which communicates with the storage space (12) through an inlet (13) and an outlet (15), wherein a photocatalyst filter (30) is installed in the vicinity of the outlet (15) within the cooling passage (14), and a plurality of cells (32) forming an air vent are formed in the photocatalyst filter (30) in the same direction as the air flow direction within the cooling passage (14), in which a UV LED (41) for radiating ultraviolet rays toward the cells (32) of the photocatalyst filter (30) is installed.

摘要: A fuel cap configured to be coupled with the opening of a fuel tank defining an interior for containing a volume of fuel. An inlet opening is configured to establish fluid communication with the fuel tank interior. An exit is in communication with a surrounding atmosphere, exterior to the fuel cap. A flow path is defined from the inlet opening to the exit. Adsorption media substantially fills the flow path and is configured to reduce the emission of VOC vapors through the exit to the surrounding atmosphere. The flow path extends spirally about an axis of the fuel cap from the inlet opening to the exit.

摘要: In some embodiments, there is provided a scrubber system for cleaning return air in an HVAC unit, where the scrubber system attaches directly to an inlet of the return-air side of the HVAC unit, for example, by the mating of a flange on the system with a matching flange on the HVAC unit. The bolt-on scrubber system may comprise one or more sorbent materials, a fan for circulating return air through the sorbent, a damper-controlled inlet and a damper-controlled outlet to the attached return air side of the HVAC unit. Further, an additional air flow channel and a damper may be included in the system to control the flow of outside air into the HVAC unit. In some embodiments, the sorbents may be contained in removable inserts.

摘要: Biogas containing H2S and CO2 is upgraded by removing H2S using PTSA and CO2 using two stages of gas separation membranes. The first stage permeate may optionally be used a regeneration gas stream. The second stage permeate may optionally be used a cool down gas stream. The PTSA unit includes two or more adsorbent beds each selective for water, VOCs, and H2S over CO2 and for H2S over methane.
