The water return apparatus of the present invention comprises a lens and a rear cover that couple together to create a sealed compartment into which electronic elements are encased. Furthermore, an adaptor couples the rear cover to a standard water return fitting of a water-bearing body, such as a swimming pool. Thus, the water return apparatus of the present invention replaces a traditional water return fitting in a swimming pool. In addition, the water return apparatus of the present invention allows for a first functional feature of facilitating the return of water to the water-bearing body and a second functional feature that is electronically driven, such as underwater lighting, underwater camera recording, underwater laser show, underwater projections, underwater sensing, and the like. Underwater sensing refers to the ability to incorporate various measuring sensors in the present inventions, such as sensors for water temperature, water clarity, movement, and the like.

The high flow water return fitting of the present invention is designed to connect directly to the end of a water return pipe in a swimming pool, spa, or the like. Water return fittings have been available for many years and have the primary purpose of returning filtered water back into a swimming pool, spa, or the like. However, the water return fitting of the present invention does not only return water into the swimming pool, it also substantially increases the water outflow so that a greater area of water in the pool can be circulated or agitated. The present invention has a uniquely curved nozzle with a flat flange. Both the curvature of the nozzle and the flat flange promote the accumulation of water within the nozzle so as to build up pressure that then pushes the water out a small outlet hole at a greater rate than does a conventional water return fitting. The outflow from the nozzle then creates a low pressure condition within a mixing chamber. Thus, the low pressure condition draws water in from the swimming pool through various louvers into the mixing chamber where it is mixed with the outflow of water from the nozzle to increase the total amount of water flowing out of the water return fitting of the present invention.

The drain apparatus of the present invention has a spring biased plunger that immediately closes the drain of a swimming pool, spa, or any other large body of water when a substantial portion of the drain cover is blocked or restricted. By closing the drain, the drain apparatus of the present invention eliminates any vacuum or suction pressure at or underneath the drain cover that entraps a person thus allowing the person to break free easily and immediately without any time delays.

A water pressure regulator with check valve for sprinklers comprising a housing, a shaft assembly, a spring, and a skirt element. The pressure regulator is a separate unit that can be inserted into the stem or movable riser of a typical pop-up sprinkler or other sprinklers. As the irrigation water passes through the pressure regulator of the present invention, the water pressure displaces the shaft assembly upward relative to the housing. The higher the shaft assembly is displaced, the smaller the cross-sectional area through which water passes within the housing or skirt element. The variation in the size of the cross-sectional area allows the present invention to regulate the out flowing water pressure of the irrigation water. When the flow of irrigation water stops, the spring pushes the shaft assembly downward so as to seal the hole through which water flows thus serving as a check valve. The separate unit design allows the pressure regulator of the present invention to be retrofittable into a common pop-up sprinkler.
