Abstract: A method of operating a wireless device (300) is described. The method includes providing (1001) a connection with a source access node. The method also includes receiving (1005) a handover command from the source access node while providing the connection with the source access node. The method also includes establishing (1009) a connection with a target access node responsive to receiving the handover command. The method further includes transmitting (1019) uplink data to the source access node after establishing the connection with the target access node. Related wireless devices are also discussed.

Abstract: A method in a node is disclosed. The method comprises generating a tag for an associated data packet at a first layer, the generated tag indicating one or more parameters related to transmission of the associated data packet. The method comprises signaling the tag from the first layer to another layer. The method comprises mapping, at the another layer, the associated data packet to a logical channel based on the one or more parameters indicated by the tag, and selecting one or more resources for transmission of the associated data packet based on the mapping of the associated data packet to the logical channel.

The method includes associating at least one tag value with a bearer upon establishment of the bearer. A tag is attached to a packet when passing the packet to a lower layer. Abstract: Methods and apparatus in a fifth-generation wireless communications, including an example method, in a wireless device, that includes receiving a downlink signal comprising an uplink access configuration index, using the uplink access configuration index to identify an uplink access configuration from among a predetermined plurality of uplink access configurations, and transmitting to the wireless communications network according to the identified uplink access configuration. The example method further includes, in the same wireless device, receiving, in a first subframe, a first Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) transmission formatted according to a first numerology and receiving, in a second subframe, a second OFDM transmission formatted according to a second numerology, the second numerology differing from the first numerology. Variants of this method, corresponding apparatuses, and corresponding network-side methods and apparatuses are also disclosed.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method in a wireless device for transmitting an uplink signalling message in a wireless communication network. The wireless device is connected to a first network element over at least a first and a second wireless link. The method comprises determining a transmission mode among alternative transmission modes for transmitting the uplink signalling message. The alternative transmission modes comprise: transmitting on the first wireless link; transmitting on the second wireless link; and transmitting on both the first and the second wireless links. The method also comprises transmitting the uplink signalling message according to the determined transmission mode. The disclosure also relates to a corresponding method performed in the network element, and to the corresponding apparatus.

Abstract: Handling of UE capability information in a mobile telecommunications network wherein an eNodeB receives information regarding the UE capability information from the UE and stores the information. The eNodeB sends the UE capability information to the EPC, i.e., to an MME, which receives and stores the UE capability information. When the UE transits from idle to active state, does an initial attach, or when a part of the UE capabilities have changed, it sends a message to the eNodeB regarding the update. The eNodeB forwards the message to the MME, which sends a response associated with the previously stored UE capability information to the eNodeB. The eNodeB decides whether the UE capabilities stored in the MME is up-to-date based on the message from the UE and the response from the MME. If the UE holds updated UE capabilities the eNodeB can request updated UE capability information from the UE.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods and wireless terminal devices that deal with issues relating to resource allocation in sidelink radio connections. One embodiment provides a method in a first wireless terminal device. The method comprises: establishing a sidelink radio connection with a second wireless terminal device; selecting one of a plurality of resource pools for wireless communication over the sidelink radio connection, the plurality of resource pools comprising a first resource pool and a second resource pool, the first resource pool defining a first subset of available physical resources and the second resource pool defining a second subset of available physical resources; and utilizing the selected resource pool for transmitting wireless communications to the second wireless terminal device, or receiving wireless communications from the second wireless terminal device.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus in a fifth-generation wireless communications network, including an example method, in a wireless device, that includes determining a reporting quality threshold for a parameter related to channel state information (CSI); performing a measurement for each of a plurality of beams from a first predetermined set of beams for evaluation; evaluating the measurement for each of the plurality of beams against the reporting quality threshold; discontinuing the performing and evaluating of measurements in response to determining that the reporting quality threshold is met for one of the beams, such that one or more beams in the first predetermined set of beams are not measured and evaluated; and reporting, to the wireless communications network, CSI for the one of the beams.
