Abstract: According to some embodiments, a method is performed by a wireless device (110) configured to operate in multi-radio dual connectivity, MR-DC, to perform measurements in a deactivated secondary cell group, SCG, mode of operation. The method comprises obtaining a measurement configuration for use in a deactivated SCG mode of operation. The measurement configuration is more relaxed than a measurement configuration for use in an activated SCG mode of operation. The method further comprises, when in deactivated SCG mode of operation, performing measurements and measurement reporting in the deactivated SCG according to the obtained measurement configuration.

Abstract: Techniques for inter base station handovers are provided for the case where a wireless device is operating in a PDCP packet duplication mode. The handover techniques enable the wireless device to transition from PDCP packet duplication with the source cell to DAPS and to transition back to PDCP packet duplication with the target cell when the handover is complete. In some embodiments, the RLC entities established with the source cell are preserved during the inter base station handover. The handover techniques ensure that QoS requirements for URLLC can be met during the inter base station handover.

Abstract: Handling of UE capability information in a mobile telecommunications network wherein an eNodeB receives information regarding the UE capability information from the UE and stores the information. The eNodeB sends the UE capability information to the EPC, i.e., to an MME, which receives and stores the UE capability information. When the UE transits from idle to active state, does an initial attach, or when a part of the UE capabilities have changed, it sends a message to the eNodeB regarding the update. The eNodeB forwards the message to the MME, which sends a response associated with the previously stored UE capability information to the eNodeB. The eNodeB decides whether the UE capabilities stored in the MME is up-to-date based on the message from the UE and the response from the MME. If the UE holds updated UE capabilities the eNodeB can request updated UE capability information from the UE.

Abstract: A method performed by a network node, for controlling access of a first User Equipment (UE) and a second UE to a cell in a radio communications network is provided. The first UE is of a low complexity type, and wherein the second UE is of a regular type. A first association is assigned to the first UE. The first association associates the first UE with its low complexity type. A second association is assigned to the second UE. The second association associates the second UE with its regular type. The network node controls (302) access of the first UE and second UE by sending a rule to the first UE and second UE. The rule is related to access control that is different for UEs with different associations, for accessing to the radio communications network. The rule triggers the first UE to perform access barring check based on the first association and the obtained rule when initiating an access attempt to the cell, while the second UE performs access barring check based on the second association and the obtained rule.

An establishment cause may be determined for the access attempt based on the access category determined from the plurality of access categories and based on the at least one access identity from the plurality of access identities. A connection request message for the access attempt may be transmitted to a wireless communication network, with the connection request message including the establishment cause determined based on the access category and based on the at least one access identity. Abstract: A radio access network comprises a first radio access node and a second radio access node. On determining that a first UE that is served by the first radio access node should start relaying through a second UE, it is determined whether the second UE is served by the first radio access node. In response to determining that the second UE is served not by the first radio access node but by the second radio access node, a handover is initiated, such that the first and second UEs are served by the same radio access node.

Abstract: A process allows a UE to acquire an SEN before accessing a target base station/node during a RACH-less handover. The SEN may be provided to the UE in various ways. For example, the SEN may be provided as part of a handover command message (e.g., RRCReconfiguration) or a master information block (MIB). In this manner, the UE acquires the SEN before accessing the target base station/node, which allows the target base station/node and the UE to effect certain timings for the handover. For example, the target base station/node and the UE may set time bounds in which the handover must occur. As another example, different types of uplink grants may be set.
