Abstract:
A substrate for an optical card having tracking grooves in a stripe form formed on the surface of an extrusion-molded thermoplastic resin sheet is characterized in that the direction of the tracking grooves is in parallel to the extrusion direction of the thermoplastic resin sheet, and the recording or reproduction using the optical card is characterized by that the optical card is bent and reciprocally moved along the direction of tracking grooves.
Abstract:
A roll stamper for continuously preparing a substrate used for optical recording mediums, having a convexity and concavity preformat pattern, is prepared by a process comprising the steps of forming a low-melting metal layer on a roll substrate, and forming an auxiliary layer comprising a material different from that of a stamper, on the back of the stamper having on its surface a pattern corresponding with a convexity and concavity preformat pattern. The stamper is overlaid on the roll substrate in such a manner that the low-melting metal layer comes into contact with the auxiliary layer, and thereafter the low-melting metal layer is melted so that the stamper is fixed to the roll substrate.

Abstract:
A method for producing an ink jet head including, on a substrate, a piezoelectric element for discharging an ink from a discharge port, and an ink flow path communicating with the discharge port so as to correspond to the piezoelectric element, the method comprising in this order a step of providing, on the substrate, a mold material corresponding to the ink flow path, a step of providing a wall material of the ink flow path so as to cover the mold material, a step of eliminating a portion of the substrate corresponding to the piezoelectric element thereby forming a space in the substrate, and a step of eliminating the mold material thereby forming the ink flow path.

Abstract:
An optical filter is disclosed which adjusts the contours of blurred images and maintains the size of blurred images. The optical filter includes a substrate being substantially transparent and a first layer whose optical density changes continuously, formed on the substrate. A transmission rate of the first layer decreases substantially linearly from a center toward a periphery of the optical filter, and the transmission rate distribution is symmetric with respect to the center.

There is provided an organic transistor having a bottom gate structure, composed of a substrate, a gate electrode, a gate insulating layer, source and drain electrodes and an organic semiconductor layer, wherein the gate insulating layer is formed so as to have a low surface energy in a portion thereof in proximity to the source and drain electrodes and a relatively high surface energy in a portion in proximity to the gate electrode, and consist of different compositions in a layer thickness direction, whereby an organic transistor has a short channel and high electric characteristics; as well as a method of manufacturing the organic semiconductor.
Abstract:
A light amount adjustment member, which causes little deterioration of image quality by diffraction at a grain boundary between ink dots in a colored portion, can be simply produced at low production cost and high yield. The light amount adjustment member has a density distribution such that an optical density varies continuously or stepwise. The process comprises steps of providing a transparent base material having a receptive layer comprised of a material capable of absorbing a coloring liquid and containing a resin and crosslinking agent, applying the coloring liquid to the layer using an ink-jet recording method to form a light amount adjustment region having a particular optical density region, storing the layer under a prescribed environment after application of the coloring liquid to the layer to cause dots formed by the coloring liquid to bleed and crosslinking the resin contained in the layer by the crosslinking agent.
Abstract:
A transport belt comprising a base member layer formed of a film comprised of a thermoplastic material and wound in the shape of a belt, and a plurality of electrodes arranged at given intervals in the shape of comb teeth on the outer periphery or inner periphery of the first base member layer. The electrodes each comprise a linear film comprised of a thermoplastic material and are joined by heating onto the first base member layer. This transport belt is improved in attraction of recording mediums and enables transport of the recording mediums in a high accuracy. Also disclosed are a process for its manufacture and an image-forming apparatus making use of the same.
