Abstract: A method for adaptive loop filtering is provided that includes determining a coefficient value for each coefficient position of an adaptive loop filter, applying the adaptive loop filter to at least a portion of a reconstructed picture using the coefficient values, and entropy encoding coefficient values into a compressed bit stream using predetermined short binary codes, wherein the short binary code used depends on the coefficient position of the coefficient value.

Abstract: The amount of memory required for CCLM prediction is reduced. The CCLM prediction parameter derivation unit (310442) derives a scale shift value corresponding to a luma difference value, and derives a CCLM prediction parameter, by shifting, by using the scale shift value, a value obtained by multiplying a value of a table referred to with a value obtained by performing right shift of the luma difference value by the scale shift value as an index and a chroma difference value. In addition, in a case of deriving a prediction image, a bit width is reduced by adaptively deriving a shift amount of a linear prediction parameter from the chroma difference value.

Abstract: A method for determining a resampling filter for resampling a video signal used in scalable video coding includes estimating a set of row filters based on a video signal. The video signal has a base resolution that is resampled to provide an output signal that enables more efficient coding of the video signal with an enhanced resolution higher than a base resolution. The set of row filters is applied to the video signal to generate a first output signal having rows that are interpolated to the enhanced resolution. A set of column filters is estimated based on the first output signal for resampling the columns in the video signal. The set of column filters is applied to the first output signal to generate a second output signal having columns as well as rows that are interpolated to the enhanced resolution.

The method includes: receiving, from the video data, an Adaptation Parameter Set (APS) identifier associated with a number of previously used Cross-Component Sample Adaptive Offset (CCSAO) filter offset sets stored in APS; receiving, from the video data, a syntax in Picture Header (PH) or Slice Header (SH) that indicates the APS identifier used for a current picture or slice; decoding, for the current coding tree unit (CTU), a filter set index that indicates a particular previously used CCSAO filter offset set of the number of offset sets in the APS associated with the APS identifier; and applying the particular previously used CCSAO filter offset set to the current CTU of the video data.

Abstract: Described is picture segmentation through columns and slices in video encoding and decoding. A video picture is divided into a plurality of columns, each column covering only a part of the video picture in a horizontal dimension. All coded tree blocks (“CTBs”) belonging to a slice may belong to one or more columns. The columns may be used to break the same or different prediction or in-loop filtering mechanisms of the video coding, and the CTB scan order used for encoding and/or decoding may be local to a column. Column widths may be indicated in a parameter set and/or may be adjusted at the slice level. At the decoder, column width may be parsed from the bitstream, and slice decoding may occur in one or more columns.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method and device for selecting a context model of a quantized coefficient end flag. The method comprises: obtaining a scanning position POS of a non-zero coefficient corresponding to current quantized coefficient end flag in a specific scanning order; wherein the scanning position POS is a subscript of the non-zero coefficient in the scanning order; configuring a first context model array, and using a fixed value as the base to calculate the logarithmic value of the value of the scanning position POS plus 1, and according to the logarithmic value, selecting a first context model from the first context model array; and using the first context model to encode or decode a binary symbol of the current quantized coefficient end flag. According to the technical solution of the present application, it is able to improve encoding and decoding efficiency for a quantized coefficient end flag, thereby further improve the efficiency of video encoding and decoding.

Abstract: The present technology relates to an encoding device, an encoding method, a reproduction device, a reproduction method, and a program enabling each reproduction equipment to reproduce an appropriate content in a simplified manner. A content data decoding unit decodes encoded metadata and outputs zoom area information, which is included in metadata acquired as a result thereof, designating an area to be zoomed. A zoom area selecting unit selects one or a plurality of pieces of zoom area information from among the zoom area information. A video segmenting unit segments a zoom area represented by the selected zoom area information in a video based on video data and outputs zoom video data acquired as a result thereof. An audio converting unit performs an audio converting process according to the selected zoom area information for audio data and outputs zoom audio data acquired as a result thereof. The present technology can be applied to a reproduction device.
