Abstract: Methods for video decoding and encoding, apparatuses and non-transitory storage media are provided. In one decoding method, the decoder obtains a plurality of scaling parameters for Local Illumination Compensation (LIC) that represents scaling factors in compensating illumination changes between a reference block and a current block. Furthermore, the decoder derives a predicted pixel in the current block based on at least one of the plurality of scaling parameters, or based on a plurality of pixels in the reference block with a subset of the plurality of scaling parameters.

Abstract: A method for decoding video data. The method including obtaining, from a bitstream, a video block and region information, wherein the region information comprises an index indicating a region selected from a set of regions located external to the video block for deriving a multiple linear regression (MLR) model, obtaining luma and chroma sample values in the region based on the region information; deriving the MLR model using the luma and chroma sample values in the region, predicting each of the chroma sample values in the video block by applying the MLR model to corresponding luma sample values for that chroma sample, and obtaining decoded video block using the predicted chroma sample values.

Abstract: This disclosure provides a video decoding apparatus and method for transform coefficient sign prediction on a video decoder side. The method may include: receiving, by a decoder, a bitstream comprising encoded data of transform coefficients of a transform block of a video frame; determining, by the decoder, multiple regions in the transform block, where the multiple regions include a sign prediction area for performing the sign prediction and at least one other region; parsing the bitstream, by the decoder, to obtain signs of transform coefficients associated with the multiple regions of the transform block according to a region-based order used to signal the signs of the transform coefficients; estimating, by the decoder, original signs for a set of candidate transform coefficients associated with the sign prediction area of the transform block; and updating the transform coefficients associated with the sign prediction area based on the estimated original signs.

Abstract: Methods for video decoding and encoding, apparatuses and non-transitory computer-readable storage media thereof are provided. In one method for video decoding, a binary arithmetic decoder may obtain a first probability for a binary symbol according to a first adaptation parameter, where the binary symbol is related to one given context model for the binary arithmetic decoder and the binary symbol is from a plurality of binary symbols associated with the context model. Furthermore, the decoder may obtain a second probability for the binary symbol according to a second adaptation parameter, and then obtain a multi-hypothesis probability according to the first probability, a first adaptive weight, the second probability, and a second adaptive weight, where the multi-hypothesis probability determines a probability of the binary symbol equaling to a binary value. Moreover, the decoder may decode the binary symbol according to the multi-hypothesis probability.

The first neighbor block and the second neighbor block are obtained from a plurality of neighbor blocks to the current block based on at least one scanning area and at least one scanning distance. The first neighbor block and the second neighbor block are obtained by scanning the at least one scanning area at the at least one scanning distance.

Abstract: Implementations of the disclosure provide a video processing method for performing intra prediction on a video block. The video processing method may include receiving reconstructed samples from a video frame in the bitstream including the video block. The video processing method may further include determining reference samples in neighboring video blocks of the video block according to a first slant line and a second slant line through a sample of the video block. The first slant line is along an interpolation direction and the second slant line is perpendicular to the first slant line. The video processing method may also include interpolating the sample of the video block based on the reference samples.
