摘要: A medical apparatus in which the measurement of an electrocardiogram and the detection of blood leakage that may occur if an accessing unit comes off the patient can be performed accurately without fail, and with which the efficiency in the operation to be performed before the treatment can be improved. A medical apparatus includes a blood purification device including an accessing unit formed of a venous puncture needle stickable into a patient, electrocardiogram-measuring devices closely attached to a skin of the patient and being capable of measuring an electrocardiogram of the patient, and a blood-leakage-detecting device attached to a position near the accessing unit and being capable of detecting blood of the patient that may leak from the accessing unit. The medical apparatus further includes an integrated detecting device provided as a unit including the electrocardiogram-measuring device and the blood-leakage-detecting device.

摘要: An extracorporeal blood treatment device for operation with a single patient connection, connected by an arterial and a venous blood line to an extracorporeal blood circuit, and a method for operating a blood treatment device with a single patient connection. The blood treatment device has two apparatuses for conveying blood in the arterial and venous blood lines. The second apparatus for conveying blood comprises means for collecting blood and means for establishing a pressure in the means for collecting blood, so that blood collected in the means for collecting blood flows to the patient connection. Furthermore, the blood treatment device has arterial and venous closure elements for interrupting the flow of liquid in the arterial and venous blood lines, as well as a control unit for actuating the two apparatuses for conveying blood and the arterial and venous closure elements. The blood treatment device and the method for operating are characterized in that the first apparatus for conveying blood is operated both during the arterial and venous phases, so that blood flows continuously through the blood treatment unit.

摘要: A portable adapter is provided that can include a closure system configured to control the flow of blood and/or dialysate between the adapter and a blood treatment apparatus. Modular systems are also provided that include the portable adapter engaged with various units such as a portable blood processing module, a non-portable base module, and/or a remote module. Methods of conducting blood treatments such as blood circulation, hemodialysis, and hemofiltration, hemodiafiltration, using the modular systems are also provided. The systems, units, and methods enable the engagement and disengagement of the adapter from the various units to conduct, interrupt, and resume blood treatments without disconnecting the adapter from the vasculature of a patient. Modular systems including interchangeable portable and base modules configured for various blood treatments are also provided that can be engaged and disengaged with each other without disconnecting the portable module from the vasculature of a patient.

摘要: An apparatus is described for extracorporeal blood treatment comprising an extracorporeal circuit (2), a first pump (13) operating at the removal line (3) of the blood, a second pump (14) operating at the return line (7) of the blood to the patient, a first blood reservoir (21) operating on the blood return line (7) upstream of the second blood pump (14) and a sensor (22) predisposed to detect at least a parameter, for example the pressure in the first reservoir; a control unit (100) connected to the first pump (13), to the second pump (14) and to the sensor (22) is configured such as to control the first pump (13) to promote removal of the blood along the removal line and the movement of the second pump (14) to promote the return of the blood to the patient along the return line, the control of the second pump being carried out on the basis of the signal emitted by the sensor acting on the first reservoir.

摘要: A disposable for use in blood treatment including a blood treatment unit and two membrane pumps connected in parallel on one side of the blood treatment unit. The disposable is operable in a single-needle mode, in which the pumps generate a pulsatile flow of blood through the blood treatment unit, and in a double-needle mode, in which the pumps generate an essentially continuous flow of blood through the blood treatment unit. The pumps connect to a supply of treatment fluid such that alternating flows of treatment fluid causes the pumps to generate the desired flows of blood in the single-needle and double-needle modes. The treatment fluid may be used as motive fluid for displacing the blood in the membrane pumps and/or as control fluid for controlling opening and/or closing of upstream and downstream commutation valves in the membrane pumps.

摘要: Tube roller pumps for blood treatment devices are disclosed. The pumps include a curved surface with a rotor rotatable therein. The rotor attaches via a shaft reception to a drive shaft of the pump. The rotor has a first locking element for axially locking the rotor on the shaft and a second locking element for rotationally coupling the shaft and the rotor. The shaft reception and the drive shaft guide the rotor to a position on the shaft, when pushed onto the shaft, and, at this position, the first element may be moved by the shaft from locked to released. The rotor, when pushed further onto the shaft, is moved to another position at which the first element is automatically moved back to locked and the second element may be brought into manual engagement with the shaft to transmit torque from the shaft to the rotor.

摘要: A method is provided for controlling the return phase of a blood separation procedure having a draw phase in which blood is drawn through an access or donor line, is separated, and a fluid, such as a cellular concentrate, is flowed into a reservoir, and a return phase in which fluid is flowed from the reservoir through the donor line. The method comprises flowing fluid from the reservoir through the donor line in a steady state return; monitoring the donor line for the presence of air; and, upon detecting air in the donor line, determining the amount of fluid remaining in the reservoir. Then, either i) the donor line is purged, if the amount of fluid remaining in the reservoir exceeds a predetermined amount, and the steady state return of fluid from the reservoir through the donor line is resumed; or ii) if the amount of fluid remaining in the reservoir does not exceed the predetermined amount, the return phase is ended by terminating the flow of fluid from the reservoir through the donor line.
