摘要: A control unit of an apparatus for extracorporeal blood treatment is configured to perform a control procedure comprising: calculating parameter control values to be set during a time interval after the instant in which the control is made, on the basis of actual values and of prescription values of variation in blood volume, ultrafiltration flow rate, concentration of sodium and/or potassium and heart rate or variation of heart rate of the patient; imposing the parameter control values during the time interval consecutive to the instant in which the control is made such that the actual values of the variation in blood volume track the prescription values of the variation in blood volume over a predetermined treatment time and the actual values of the heart rate or variation of heart rate track the prescription values of the heart rate or variation of heart rate over the predetermined treatment time.

The dialysis machine may include at least one processor and a memory coupled to the at least one processor, the memory comprising instructions that, when executed by the processor, may cause the at least one processor to access dialysis information for a dialysis process performed by a dialysis machine, the dialysis information indicating a target substance to be displaced from a binding compound by a displacer, and determine an infusion profile for infusing the displacer into a patient during a displacer infusion process of the dialysis process, the infusion profile determined based on the dialysis information and an infusion constraint. Other embodiments are described.

Volumetric fluid balance, a required element of many such processes, may be achieved with multiple pumps or other proportioning or balancing devices which are to some extent independent of each other. This need may arise in treatments that involve multiple fluids. Safe and secure mechanisms to ensure fluid balance in such systems are described.

摘要: Systems, methods, and devices model, identify, and predict effects of dialysis on drugs and chemical substances in patients. The systems estimate and determine effects of dialysis on elutes and drugs and solve problems with prior systems in determining effects of dialysis on drugs and dosages, especially the removal of target substances from the blood of patients during dialysis. Drug and medicine dosage adjustments for patients undergoing dialysis are made by considering the dialysis systems, patients, and drug variables and the extent to which they affect drug removal. Patients receive proper dosing by accounting for the effects of their dialysis. Systems and methods include a combination of ex vivo simulated treatments and in-silico modeling and simulation. The effects of dialysis are estimated and determined for various drugs and dosages. A reliable and effective surrogate for performing studies on patients provides guidance for use of the drugs in dialysis patients.

The control unit (15) is configured to receive measured values of the change of blood volume, the amount of ultrafiltration volume, and conductivity or to the concentration for at least one substance in the blood (BV %mes(t); UFmes(t), WLmes(t); Cbmes(t)); the control unit (15) is also configured to receive prescription values for the same parameters and to control ultrafiltration and adjust conductivity in the fresh dialysis liquid based on the difference between said measured values and said prescription values.

摘要: An apparatus is described for extracorporeal blood treatment, comprising a treatment unit, an extracorporeal blood circuit and a fluid evacuation line. The apparatus comprises a control unit connected to a pressure sensor and a blood pump, the blood pump generating a variable flow with a constant component and a variable component. The control unit receives, from the pressure sensor, a plurality of values and calculates the average pressure value, acquires an estimated value of volume variation in the expansion chamber connected to the variable flow component, calculates, as a function of the pressure values, an estimated value of pressure variation in the expansion chamber that is representative of an oscillating pressure component and determines a representative magnitude of a blood level in the expansion chamber as a function of the average pressure value, the estimated value of volume variation and the estimated pressure variation in the expansion chamber.

摘要: A blood based solute monitoring system for measuring at least one blood solute species that has a first recirculation flow path in fluid communication with a dialyzer. The first recirculation flow path is configured to allow a fluid to recirculate through a dialyzer such that the concentration of at least one solute species in the fluid becomes equilibrated to the solute species concentration of the blood in a blood compartment of the dialyzer. The blood solute monitoring system has at least one sensor to measure a fluid characteristic.
