摘要: A bi-directional power converter includes: a plurality of input nodes, each input node configured to electrically connect to one phase of a multi-phase AC electrical power distribution network; and an electrical network configured to convert alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC) and to convert DC current to AC current, the electrical network including a plurality of electronic switches. The bi-directional power converter also includes a control system configured to: estimate harmonic voltage content at three intermediate nodes in the bi-directional power converter based on a measured electrical quantity; and control the electronic switches to compensate for the estimated harmonic voltage content.

摘要: A method of mitigating high frequency harmonics in an output current of an electrical power system connected to a power grid includes providing an active harmonic filter in a stator power path connecting a stator of the generator to the power grid. Further, the method includes controlling, via a controller, the active harmonic filter to selectively extract a high frequency harmonic component from the output current. The method also includes determining, via the controller, whether the high frequency harmonic component is a positive sequence harmonic or a negative sequence harmonic. Moreover, the method includes compensating, via the controller, for the high frequency harmonic component based on whether the high frequency harmonic component is the positive sequence harmonic or the negative sequence harmonic to mitigate the high frequency harmonics in the output current.

摘要: An electrical distribution grid energy management and router device, or GER device, may be installed in a distribution grid, and route power from power supply to one or more power consumers. The GER devices described herein may provide platforms to add one or more features to a distribution transformer, provide additional features and benefits to both the utility company and end consumer, and may serve as a platform for providing other features, such as communications services, local and remote management, and intelligence to components of the distribution grid. A GER device may include sensors to measure electrical properties of incoming and outgoing power, and may include an electrical circuit layer having a central DC power stage. A GER device may also include a communications platform for one or more communication devices to communicate with a utility, power consumers, other electrical devices/parties, and/or other GER devices to form a micro-grid.

摘要: In one form, a power amplifier system includes first and second amplification path, and a combination element. The first amplification path has an input for receiving a drive signal, and an output. The second amplification path has an input coupled to the input of the first amplification path, and an output. The second amplification path has a delay element that inserts a signal path delay with respect to the first amplification path, wherein the delay element has a delay corresponding to a harmonic that is desired to be reduced. The combination element is coupled to the output of the first amplification path and an output of the second amplification path, and provides an output signal as a sum of outputs of the first amplification path and the second amplification path.

摘要: A method and system of power factor optimization and total harmonic distortion are provided under the premise of efficient power management and distribution on an electrical grid. The method and system include a novel optimization technique based on a novel current profiling methodology enabling real-time power management with power factor correction as a function of the optimization. The optimization can be performed under dynamic current constraints. When deployed on an electrical grid, the method and system can provide a new technique for power management targeting an efficiency of the electrical grid. The method and system can thus provide for reduced costs of energy production and reduced carbon emissions into the atmosphere.

摘要: A distributed control node enables local control of reactive power. A metering device of the control node measures energy delivered by a grid network at a point of common coupling (PCC) to which a load is coupled. The metering device determines that the load draws reactive power from the grid network. The control node draws real power from the grid and converts the real power from the grid into reactive power. The conversion of real to reactive power occurs on the consumer side of the PCC. The conversion of real to reactive power enables delivery of reactive power to a local load from real power drawn from the grid.
