Abstract: One aspect relates to initiating, by a device, a connection with an application server associated with one or more application services. A gateway derives an uplink network token and/or a downlink network token. The tokens are provisioned to the device and/or an application server over the user-plane. The tokens are included with uplink and/or downlink packets, respectively. Another aspect relates to receiving a data packet at a gateway. The gateway determines a requirement for a network token from the packet. The gateway derives the network token based on a device subscription profile maintained by a network. The network token may be sent with the packet to a destination address associated with the packet. A packet including a network token may be received at a gateway. The gateway may verify the network token and send the data packet to an application server or a device if the verifying is successful.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently retransmitting radio link control (RLC) protocol data units (PDUs) to one or more UEs. When a user equipment (UE) fails to receive or decode an RLC PDU transmitted by a base station, the UE may transmit a status PDU to the base station indicating that the UE failed to receive or decode the RLC PDU. The base station may receive the status PDU from the UE, and the base station may generate a repair PDU that includes redundant bits of the lost PDU (e.g., the PDU that the UE failed to receive or decode). The base station may then transmit the repair PDU to the UE, and the UE may use the redundant bits in the repair PDU (e.g., in combination with buffered PDUs) to attempt to correctly decode the lost PDU.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) may be configured to communicate with a first base station, where the first UE is configured to relay wireless communications between a second UE and the first base station via at least a sidelink communication link between the first UE and the second UE. The first UE may receive, from the first base station, an indication for the first UE to perform a first handover procedure from the first base station to a second base station. The first UE may transmit, to the second UE via the sidelink communication link and based on receiving the indication to perform the first handover procedure, a sidelink transmission including a trigger for the second UE to perform a second handover procedure or a reselection procedure. The first UE may then communicate with the second base station based on performing the first handover procedure from the first base station to the second base station.

In some aspects, a remote user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a relay UE, a request for a Layer 2 relay service and a relay service code associated with the Layer 2 relay service; receive, from the relay UE, a message indicating that the relay UE accepts the Layer 2 relay service associated with the relay service code; establish a radio access signaling radio bearer (SRB) for the Layer 2 relay service using a remote UE radio access SRB configuration; and communicate via the radio access SRB. Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to mobility with consideration for network slicing are provided. In one embodiment, a user equipment (UE) transmits in a first cell frequency of a network, a request for a network slice of the network that is not provided by the first cell frequency. The UE receives, in response to the request, an information for communicating in a second cell frequency of the network that provides the requested network slice. In one embodiment, a core network entity receives, from a network entity operating over a first cell frequency of a network, a request to provide a network slice of the network to a UE, the network slice not provided by the first cell frequency. The core network entity transmits, to the BS, information associated with a second cell frequency of the network providing the network slice.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to mechanisms for proximity service (ProSe) authorization and provisioning. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to support ProSe communication and may indicate this capability to a radio access network (RAN) and a core network during registration of the UE. Based on the ProSe indication, the RAN may select an access and mobility management function (AMF) that supports ProSe authorization and policy provisioning and forward a registration request indicating the UE supports ProSe communication to the selected AMF. Upon authorizing the UE for ProSe operation, the AMF may transmit a registration accept message including a ProSe supported indication to the UE. The UE may then initiate a ProSe session with another UE based on the ProSe supported indication in the registration accept message.

Abstract: In an aspect, a network supporting a number of client devices includes a network device that generates a context for a client device. The client device context may include network state information for the client device that enables the network to communicate with the client device. The client device may obtain, from a network device that serves a first service area of the network, information that includes a first client device context. The client device may enter a second service area of the network served by a second network device. Instead of performing a service area update procedure with the network, the client device may transmit a packet in the different service area with the information that includes the client device context. The client device may receive a service relocation message including information associated with the different network device in response to the transmission.

Abstract: Logical channel prioritization and mapping to different numerologies is disclosed for 5G networks having multiple network slices operable for communication via logical channels associated with different numerologies. For user equipments (UEs) configured to handle multiple numerologies, different rules for mapping logical channels associated with different numerologies may be defined for data and non-data channels. Thus, when new data arrives at a UE for communication via a logical channel associated with a different numerology, the UE checks whether the mapping rules would allow multiplexing of the new numerology data onto an existing data channel. If no data channel has already been allocated or if an allocated data channel may not include data from the new numerology, then a mapping is followed for specifically requesting resources for communication of the new numerology data. The new mapping may trigger scheduling request or random access procedures specifically associated with the new numerology.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support vehicle alerting, such as in autonomous driving networks. Vehicle alerting may provide messages alerting other vehicles and/or network components to instances of autonomous driving disengagement. A vehicle operating according to an autonomous vehicle (AV) mode may transmit an over-the-air message to one or more other devices, such as nodes of an autonomous driving network, to alert the one or more devices to the vehicle disengaging the AV mode. A device receiving an autonomous disengagement message may alter one or more autonomous operation aspects in response to the over-the-air message. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.
