    摘要: Described is a method for dissolving PPTA or copolymers thereof in sulfuric acid using a twin screw extruder having transporting, mixing, and kneading elements with an entering zone, an intermediate zone, a mixing zone, a negative transport zone, a degassing zone, and a pressure build-up zone. The method includes transporting PPTA or copolymer thereof into the entering zone at a transport capacity low enough as to prevent sulfuric acid entering the entering zone; introducing sulfuric acid in the intermediate zone; essentially fully filling the mixing zone to allow sufficient time to mix and dissolve PPTA or copolymer thereof in the sulfuric acid to obtain a PPTA or copolymer-sulfuric acid solution; creating after the mixing zone a negative transport zone to obtain a product lock between the mixing zone and the degassing zone; creating a thin film of the PPTA or copolymer-sulfuric acid solution in the degassing zone to degas the solution; and entering the solution into the output pressure build-up zone to partially fill this zone and to leave the twin screw extruder.

    摘要: The invention relates to a non-fibrous polymer solution essentially consisting of 1 to 8 wt. % para-aramid, at least 50 mole % of the aromatic moieties thereof being unsubstituted, in a mixture of a) a polar amide solvent selected from N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, N,N′-dimethyl-formamide, N,N′-dimethylacetamide, tetramethylurea, and mixtures thereof; b) between 0.7 mole of an alkali or alkaline earth metal chloride per mole amide groups of the para-aramid and 7.5 wt. % of the alkali or alkaline earth metal chloride, and c) water; and wherein at least 50 wt. % of the formed hydrochloric acid has been neutralized to obtain a solution having a dynamic viscosity which is at least a factor three smaller than the dynamic viscosity of the polymer solution without neutralization. The invention further pertains to a process making the same and para-aramid pulp-like fiber, paper and film made from said polymer solution.

    摘要: A para-oriented polyamide porous film comprising a fibril having a diameter of not more than 1.mu., with fibrils planarly arranged as a network or nonwoven fabric and laminated in a layer, the thermal linear expansion coefficient at 200.degree.-300.degree. C. within .+-.50.times.10.sup.-6 /.degree.C. and 30-95% vacant spaces. Also, a battery separator using the porous film. Also, a production process of: (a) forming a film-like material from a solution containing 1-10% of a para-oriented aromatic polyamide having an inherent viscosity of 1.0-2.8 dl/g and 1-10% of a chloride of an alkali metal or an alkali earth metal in a polar amide or polar urea solvent; (b) maintaining the film-like material at not less than 20.degree. C. and not more than -5.degree. C. to deposit the para-oriented aromatic polyamide; and (c) immersing the film-like material in an aqueous or alcoholic solution to elute the sovlent and chloride of the alkali metal or alkali earth metal, then drying to obtain the para-oriented aromatic polyamide porous film. The film has uniformity and fine vacant spaces, which cannot be accomplished by a nonwoven fabric. Characteristics of a para-aramid (e.g., high heat resistance, high rigidity, high strength, etc.) are used.
