Abstract: A method for producing polyamide particles may include: mixing a mixture comprising a polyamide, a carrier fluid that is immiscible with the polyamide, and nanoparticles at a temperature greater than a melting point or softening temperature of the polyamide and at a shear rate sufficiently high to disperse the polyamide in the carrier fluid; cooling the mixture to below the melting point or softening temperature of the polyamide to form solidified particles comprising polyamide particles having a circularity of 0.90 or greater and that comprise the polyamide and the nanoparticles associated with an outer surface of the polyamide particles; and separating the solidified particles from the carrier fluid.

Abstract: A process for production of a low-shrinkage aliphatic polyamide fibre, in which polyamide is extruded through a spinneret to form filaments, then cooled and combined to form at least one yarn. The at least one yarn is subjected to drawing between the spinneret and a pair of inlet rolls, then in a further multi-stage drawing step is subjected to 4-fold to 6-fold drawing by pairs of draw rolls. The pairs of draw rolls successively heat the yarn and at least the last pair of draw rolls has a temperature of 5° C. to 20° C. below the melting point of the yarn. The yarn is relaxed by from 6% to 10% in a subsequent at least three-stage relaxation zone and is kept in a temperature range of 5° C. to 15° C. below the melting point of the yarn, and is subsequently wound up on a reel device.

Abstract: A method of synthesizing polyamide microparticles may comprise: dehydrating and shearing a mixture comprising a matrix fluid, an emulsion stabilizer at about 0.01 wt % to about 50 wt % based on the weight of the matrix fluid, a solvent at about 13 wt % to about 75 wt % based on the weight of the matrix fluid, and a cyclic amide monomer at about 20 wt % to about 90 wt % based on the weight of the matrix fluid to yield an emulsion having a water content of about 1 wt % or less based on the total weight of the emulsion; adding a deprotonating agent to the emulsion at a concentration of about 0.01 wt % to about 1 wt % based on the weight of the matrix fluid; and contacting the emulsion with a polymerization initiator under conditions effective to polymerize the cyclic amide monomer into a plurality of polyamide microparticles.

Abstract: A process for producing polyamides makes flow guidance within the process more efficient. In some respects, the process is based on the polymerization of lactam to a polyamide-containing polymer melt, the subsequent granulation of the polymer melt to polyamide granules using granulation liquid, and the subsequent extraction of monomeric and oligomeric constituents from the PA granules in an extraction column. In some examples, a temperature of the granulation liquid before being fed into an extraction liquid stream is lower than a temperature of the extraction liquid stream before the granulation liquid is fed into the extraction liquid stream. The invention relates also to a device for carrying out processes such as this one.

Abstract: A method produces polyamide fine particles by polymerizing a polyamide monomer (A) in the presence of a polymer (B) at a temperature equal to or higher than the crystallization temperature of a polyamide to be obtained, wherein the polyamide monomer (A) and the polymer (B) are homogeneously dissolved at the start of polymerization, and polyamide fine particles are precipitated after the polymerization. Polyamide fine particles have a number average particle size of 0.1 to 100 μm, a sphericity of 90 or more, a particle size distribution index of 3.0 or less, a linseed oil absorption of 100 mL/100 g or less, and a crystallization temperature of 150° C. or more. In particular, a polyamide having a high crystallization temperature includes fine particles having a smooth surface, a narrow particle size distribution, and high sphericity.

Abstract: A process and an apparatus for production of a low-shrinkage aliphatic polyamide fibre, in which polyamide is extruded through a spinneret to form filaments, then cooled and combined to form at least one yarn. Abstract: The invention relates to a method for synthesizing a polyamide, in which method an aqueous solution is sprayed onto the polyamide before and/or during a solid-state post-condensation process. The aqueous solution comprises at least a first compound, selected from the group comprising phosphoric acid, fully neutralized salts of phosphoric acid, partially neutralized salts of phosphoric acid, and mixtures thereof, and a second compound, selected from the group comprising an acid, an anhydride, a lactone, ammonia, an amine, and mixtures thereof, with the stipulation that the second compound is not phosphoric acid and is not phosphoric acid anhydride. The spraying occurs at a temperature that lies below the boiling point of water. A polyamide that can be produced by means of the method according to the invention can be used in particular to produce films, monofilaments, fibers, threads, or textile sheet materials.
