Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of receiving a broadcast signal. The method comprises receiving the broadcast signal; an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) demodulating on the received broadcast signal; parsing at least one signal frame from the demodulated broadcast signal to extract service data or service component data; converting the service data or service component data into bits; decoding the converted bits; and outputting a data stream comprising the decoded bits.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method of transmitting broadcast signals. The method includes, encoding, by an encoder, PLP (Physical Layer Pipe) data; time interleaving, by a time interleaver, the encoded PLP data; frame mapping, by a framer, the time interleaved PLP data onto at least one signal frames; frequency interleaving, by a frequency interleaver, data in the at least one signal frames; and waveform modulating, by a waveform module, the frequency interleaved data in the at least one signal frame and transmitting, by the waveform module, broadcast signals having the modulated data, wherein the frequency interleaving is conducted according to an interleaving mode, wherein the interleaving mode is determined based on a FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) size.

Abstract: A method is provided for transmitting broadcast signals. Service data is encoded. The encoded service data is mapped to symbols onto constellations. Data cells are frequency interleaved in a symbol among the symbols in at least one frame unit using an interleaving sequence. The interleaving sequence is generated based on a main interleaving-sequence and a symbol offset value. The interleaving sequence is generated by operating the main interleaving-sequence with the symbol offset value. The data cells are included in the symbol with a symbol index and a frame unit with a frame unit index. The frequency interleaving of the data cells operates on a frame basis. The frequency interleaving of the data cells is reset when a first frame unit is changed to a second frame unit. Data is modulated in the at least one frame unit by an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) scheme. The broadcast signals carrying the modulated data are transmitted.
