Abstract: Intra-tympanic injections of therapeutics into the inner ear can be used to treat conditions such as hearing loss. One or more stabilizing devices that define working channels can be temporarily implanted in the tympanic membrane. Purpose-built instruments such as endoscopes, forceps, and injections instruments can be passed through the working channels of the stabilizer devices to access the inner ear where the therapy can be administered. Afterwards, the stabilizing devices can be removed from the tympanic membrane and the tympanic membrane can heal, typically without the need for sutures.

Abstract: The present application discloses an ocular implant delivery device comprising a housing, a rotating wheel, a push needle linkage assembly, a retracting linkage assembly, a sleeve, and a puncture needle. A through hole is provided at a distal end of the housing, and the sleeve extends from an inside of the housing to an outside of the housing through hole and is fixedly connected to the housing. The puncture needle runs through the sleeve, and an end of the puncture needle facing away from a needle tip of the puncture needle is fixedly connected to the retracting linkage assembly. A push needle of the push needle linkage assembly extends through an inner hole of the puncture needle, the rotating wheel is connected to the housing via a rotating shaft, and an opening corresponding to the rotating wheel is provided on the housing.

Abstract: An ablation probe includes an elongate body extending from a first end to a second end, the first end extending into a housing and the second end comprising an ablation probe tip configured for insertion into a biopsy tract in a patient. The elongate body of the ablation probe can be inserted into a patient through an existing trocar needle or biopsy access cannula following completion of a biopsy. The elongate body of the ablation probe may include a lumen containing a wire for heating the ablation probe tip, which may be composed of graphite, a resistive metal, or another electrically-resistive material. The lumen may contain a thermocouple or other temperature sensor for monitoring the temperature of the ablation probe tip. Use of the ablation probe to heat tissue following a biopsy effects cauterization of the tissue, stopping bleeding and reducing or preventing the seeding of tumors.

Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for performing minimally invasive spinal procedures are described herein. The systems, devices, and methods may be used to percutaneously access the spinal canal and perform a spinal procedure in multiple locations along the canal, e.g., bilaterally and/or at multiple levels from a single access point. The systems and devices may integrate various instruments for performing the procedures, thus improving their ease of use, reducing procedural complexity, and minimizing procedure time.

Abstract: An apparatus for assisting in the introduction of a flexible wire into a device having a comparable sized lumen. An exemplary apparatus includes a first portion having a distal end, a proximal end, a slot and a lumen exposed at the distal end, the proximal end and the slot, and a second portion having a distal end, a proximal end, a slot and a lumen exposed at the distal end, the proximal end and the slot of the second portion. The second portion is slidably and rotatably received with the lumen of the first portion. A gripping device is attached at the proximal end of the second portion. The gripping device causes at least a portion of the proximal end of the second portion to have a reduced inner diameter when a gripping force is applied to the gripping device.

Abstract: Coupling devices and related methods are disclosed herein, e.g., for coupling a surgical instrument to a navigation array or other component. The coupling device can reduce or eliminate movement between the instrument and the navigation array, improving navigation precision. The coupling device can be quick and easy to use, reducing or eliminating the need for extra steps or additional tools to attach or detach the instrument from the coupling device. In some embodiments, the single step of inserting an instrument into the coupling device can automatically lock the instrument within the coupling device in a toggle-free manner. The coupling device can include features for consistently attaching instruments thereto at a known or predetermined location and/or orientation.
