    摘要: A method in a radio network controller (130) is disclosed. The method comprises determining (1204) a decimation factor for a transmit power control (TPC) algorithm, the TPC algorithm comprising a power control algorithm according to which TPC commands for controlling a transmit power of a wireless device (110) are discontinuously transmitted to the wireless device by a network node (115), the decimation factor indicating a predefined number of slots, wherein one out of the predefined number of slots is for transmitting a TPC command to the wireless device; upon determining the decimation factor for the TPC algorithm, modifying (1208) one or more parameters related to TPC to optimize TPC using the TPC algorithm having the determined decimation factor; and configuring (1212) the network node to control the transmit power of the wireless device according to the TPC algorithm and the one or more modified parameters.

    摘要: Methods and apparatuses are provided for uplink MIMO transmissions in a wireless communication system. In particular, a single inner loop power control may be utilized to control a power of both a primary stream and a secondary stream, in a system where the power of the secondary stream is linked to the power of the primary stream. That is, a single transmit power control command calculated according to the primary stream and directly controlling the power of the primary stream can effectively control the power of both uplink streams. Further, the disclosure provides outer loop power control, where a signal-to-interference ratio target used in the inner loop power control can be adjusted. Here, the SIR target may be adjusted in accordance with at least one of a block error rate performance or a HARQ failure performance of one of the primary stream or the secondary stream.

    摘要: Techniques to increase the capacity of a W-CDMA wireless communications system. In an exemplary embodiment, early termination of one or more transport channels on a W-CDMA wireless communications link is provided. In particular, early decoding is performed on slots as they are received over the air, and techniques are described for signaling acknowledgment messages (ACK's) for one or more transport channels correctly decoded to terminate the transmission of those transport channels. The techniques may be applied to the transmission of voice signals using the adaptive multi-rate (AMR) codec. Further exemplary embodiments describe aspects to reduce the transmission power and rate of power control commands sent over the air, as well as aspects for applying tail-biting convolutional codes in the system.
