摘要: A gunshot detection system includes gunshot sensor units and a control panel. The gunshot sensor units generate audio data and encrypt the audio data using an encryption key before storing the audio data and/or sending it to the control panel. The control panel decrypts received encrypted audio data using a decryption key. The encryption keys might be programmed at the control panel and distributed to the gunshot sensor units. The control panel would also store decryption keys for decrypting the audio data from each of the different gunshot sensor units. An additional layer of end-to-end encryption is provided for messages exchanged between the devices. The gunshot sensor units can also be equipped with wireless interfaces for communicating with the control panel over a communication network. To address potential bandwidth issues, the gunshot sensor units determine current network conditions and compress the audio data based on the current network conditions.

摘要: Various implementations described herein are directed to a method for detecting, by a device, an increase in temperature at certain parts of an electrical system, and taking appropriate responsive action. The method may include measuring temperatures at certain locations within the system and estimating temperatures at other locations based on the measurements. Some embodiments disclosed herein include an integrated cable combining electrical conduction and heat-detection capabilities, or an integrated cable or connector combining electrical conduction with a thermal fuse.

The method includes recording a baseline signal characteristic that characterizes a wireless signal transmitted between devices in or around the building during a baseline time period and recording a second signal characteristic that characterizes the wireless signal during a second time period after the baseline time period. An event in or around the building is detected in response to a determination that the second signal characteristic is abnormal relative to the baseline signal characteristic, the event degrading the wireless signal during the second time period. An alarm is triggered in response to detecting the event.

摘要: A method of controlling an agricultural facility for housing a plurality of animals includes the step of regulating the environment within the agricultural facility with an automated building operational system. An automated thermal event controller is operationally coupled with the automated building operational system and generates a thermal event signal in response to a thermal event in progress, whereby the automated thermal event controller, upon receipt of the thermal event signal indicating that the thermal event is in progress, activates an alarm state. In the alarm state, the automated thermal event controller: sends an alarm signal to a system administrator; places the automated building operational system in a safety-mode condition for a first predetermined time interval; and places the automated building operational system in a normal-mode operational condition after the first predetermined time interval and if a confirmatory signal is not yet then received from the system administrator.

摘要: An event detection device consumes zero power until an alarming event takes place by taking; advantage of the phase transition of a PCM material (Phase Change Material) to monitor relevant physical/chemical events. If the PCM material is ion-conducting, the device comprises a liquid-activated battery, an ion-conducting PCM material (Phase Change Material), positioned in contact with the liquid-activated battery, and an electronics module, connected to the liquid-activated battery, that powers up with the battery. If the PCM material is a non ion-conducting PCM material, the device additionally comprises a ion- conducting liquid, and being the non ion-conducting PCM material placed as a barrier between the ion-conducting liquid and the liquid-activated battery.

摘要: An evacuation guidance system is configured from multiple sensor modules, network lines, guidance indicators, and a guidance control device. Each sensor module includes multiple input/output port pairs, fire detection sensors, and a data control unit. The multiple input/output port pairs are connected to input/output port pairs of other sensor modules by means of network lines, thereby configuring a mesh-like autonomous network. The data control unit generates and outputs fire data after adding fire location data; upon receiving fire data, outputs the fire data after adding its own route flag; and stops the output of fire data when the fire data contains its own route flag. Upon identifying the location of the fire outbreak from the fire data, the guidance control device calculates optimum evacuation routes and causes the guidance indicators to turn on/off or flash.
