A pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for an image display panel, a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer for an image display panel, and an optical film provided with a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer are disclosed which are free of problems regarding durability and defective appearance caused by an antistatic agent (conductive agent), and which have superior antistatic properties so as to be usable for applications such as in an image display panel. An image display panel is also disclosed in which the optical film provided with a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is attached to the surface of the image display panel in contact with the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer without an interposed conductive layer, and a liquid crystal display device using the image display panel. Further, a liquid crystal display device is disclosed with a touch sensing function using the image display panel that can be used as various input display devices such as mobile devices.

The adhesive film includes a cured product of an adhesive composition, which includes a (meth)acrylic copolymer formed from a monomer mixture including (a1) an alkyl (meth)acrylate having a C1 to C17 alkyl group and (a2) an alkyl (meth)acrylate having an alkyl group having 18 or more carbon atoms. The adhesive film has a ratio (B/A) of 90° peel strength (B) after aging the adhesive film at 25° C. for 30 minutes and leaving the adhesive film at 90° C. for 40 seconds to 90° peel strength (A) after aging the adhesive film at 25° C. for 30 minutes of about 0.1 or less.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a primer, comprising a mixture dissolved or dispersed in one or more solvents, the mixture composed of a copolymer obtained through copolymerization, preferably free-radical copolymerization, of vinylcaprolactam and/or vinylpyrrolidone, and one or more of the following monomers: a) an acrylic acid ester of a linear primary alcohol containing 2 to 10 carbon atoms in the alkyl group of the alcohol, b) an acrylic acid ester of a branched, non-cyclic alcohol having 4 to 12 carbon atoms in the alkyl group of the alcohol, c) acrylic acid, one or more organofunctional silanes. Such primer provides reliable and excellent adhesion between pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes and hydrophilic surfaces, in particular glass. The adhesion-promoting effect is retained even when the primer additionally contains functional fillers.
Abstract:
An adhesive composition is provided that is water-insoluble yet water-absorbent, i.e., capable of absorbing up to 15 wt. % water or more. The composition in composed of a film-forming hydrophilic polymer with at least one linear segment having a plurality of recurring polar groups along the polymer backbone, a complementary multifunctional polymer with a plurality of recurring functional groups that noncovalently bind to the polar groups on the film-forming polymer, and plasticizer. A method for manufacturing the adhesive composition is provided as well.
Abstract:
The invention is based on the discovery that compositions containing certain maleimide compounds and aromatic diene compounds are useful as thermosetting resins for the electronic packaging industry. The invention compositions described herein can be cured in a variety of ways, with or without a catalyst. In some embodiments, the well-known “ene” reaction can be used to cure the compositions described herein, and therefore no catalyst is required.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an optical system in which an adhesive layer of a cemented lens is made of a mixture in which inorganic fine particles dispersed into a transparent medium. Therefore, there is realized an optical system capable of effectively correcting chromatic aberration while having a structure in which a manufacturing cost is low and an environmental resistance is high.
