The present invention is a resin composition characterized by being able to undergo elastic deformation, having little residual strain rate and exhibiting stress relaxation properties. More specifically, the present invention relates to a resin composition wherein the stress relaxation rate (R) and the residual strain rate α, as measured in a prescribed extension-restoration test, are as follows: 20%≤R≤95% and 0%≤α≤3%.

Hydrophilic coating compositions and methods to make and use the compositions are disclosed. The coatings include one or more amphiphilic cyclodextrins, with one or more hydrophilic groups in place of primary hydroxyl groups, and one or more hydrophobic groups in place of secondary hydroxyl groups. The hydrophobic surface of the cyclodextrin faces the binder particles, while the hydrophilic surface is exposed to the exterior, thus providing a hydrophilic and self-cleaning property to the coating.

There is provided a microparticle/polyrotaxane-containing coating with high abrasion resistance and chemical resistance. There are also provided a microparticle/polyrotaxane-containing coating film and a coated article. The microparticle/polyrotaxane-containing coating includes a solvent-based coating material, a modified polyrotaxane having a caprolactone modification group (—CO(CH2)5OH) and microparticles having an average particle size of smaller than 380 nm. The microparticle/polyrotaxane-containing coating film is in the form of a layer of the microparticle/polyrotaxane-containing coating on an article to be coated. The coated article includes the microparticle/polyrotaxane-containing coating film and an article to be coated.

The colorant, in the presence of the radiation transorber, is adapted, upon exposure of the transorber to specific, narrow bandwidth radiation, to be mutable. The radiation transorber also imparts light-stability to the colorant so that the colorant does not fade when exposed to sunlight or artificial light.

An object of the present invention is to provide a golf ball showing increased controllability on approach shots for less than 40 yards and showing excellent shot feeling. In the inventive golf ball, the paint film is formed from a curing type paint composition including: a base material containing a polyrotaxane, and a curing agent containing a polyisocyanate, and wherein the polyrotaxane has a cyclodextrin, a linear molecule included in a cyclic structure of the cyclodextrin in a manner of piercing through the cyclic structure of the cyclodextrin, and a blocking group located at both ends of the linear molecule to prevent disassociation of the cyclodextrin, and at least a part of hydroxyl groups of the cyclodextrin is modified with a caprolactone chain via —O—C3H6—O— group.

A stable emulsion having a fluid medium; a phase change material (PCM) comprising a straight, branched and/or cyclic aliphatic moiety having from 3 to 18 carbon atoms, polymers, and copolymers having residues of the straight, branched and/or cyclic aliphatic moiety; and a modified cyclodextrin having at least one functional moiety capable of forming a stable emulsion with the PCM in the fluid medium. The invention further includes a modified paint or surface coating having from 10 to 99 weight % of a base coating and from 1 to 90 weight % of the stable emulsion admixed therein.
