The sustained-release formulation of the present invention slowly and stably releases compound (I) or a salt thereof over a long period of time and exerts medicinal effects of compound (I) or a salt thereof over a long period of time. Furthermore, the sustained-release formulation of the present invention, which improves patient's convenience by reducing frequency of administration, is an excellent formulation as a clinical medicine.

A bioplastic composition may contain certain biodegradable and renewable components. In some examples, the bioplastic composition includes at least one kind of aquatic macrophyte biomass, which may contain a native composition of protein and carbohydrates, in a blend with one or more types of biodegradable or durable thermoplastic polymers. The aquatic macrophyte composition may provide a balance of both polymeric and reinforcing properties to the blended bioplastic not typically exhibited by terrestrial feedstock such as soy meal or corn starch. Such a bioplastic composition may be formed into molded articles using extrusion, injection molding, compression molding, or the like.

Lysine-based polymers, particularly copolymers of lysine and maleic acid, are useful as coagulants for clarification of wastewaters, including produced waters from oils sands mining operations. They can be advantageously used in combination with commercial coagulants, and in combination with flocculants. Such combinations may include dry blends. The invention discloses a process for fabricating a biomaterial, comprising: a) joining a porous collagen based-material with a non-porous collagen based-material by applying a controlled amount of a bonding layer of a gel comprising collagen to a bonding surface of the non-porous collagen based-material, and contacting a surface of the porous collagen based-material with the gel applied to the bonding surface to partially hydrate a section of the porous material at the interface between the materials; b) drying the gel to dry to bond the materials together; and c) cross-linking the collagens in the bonding layer. Also disclosed are biomaterials and implants produced using the fabrication process.
