    摘要: An initiator for the terminal group of the polymer product of an atom or group radical transfer polymerisation has an activated carboxyl or an amine group which is reacted with an amine or carboxyl (respectively) group containing biologically active compound. The initiator is preferably 4-(3-(2-bromo, 2-methyl-propionate)phenyl)-propionic acid N-hydroxysuccinimide ester or 2-bromo, 2-methyl-propionic acid N-hydroxysuccinimide ester. The monomers preferably comprise a zwitterionic monomer such as 2-methacryloxyethyl-2′-trimethyl ammoniumethyl phosphate inner salt.

    摘要: Cyclic N-halamine biocidal monomers and polymers and methods of using the same as biocides, wherein the functional group, halogenated oxazolidinones, may be homo- and copolymerized, are provided. The copolymerizations are effected with inexpensive monomers such as acrylonitrile, styrene, vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride, and the like. Grafting reactions were also accomplished with the N-halamine monomers and commercial polymers such as poly-acrylonitrile, poly-styrene, poly-vinyl acetate, poly-vinyl alcohol, poly-vinyl chloride, and cellulose. These N-halamine compounds are stable biocides which release small amounts of free halogen and other impurities. They will be useful as disinfectants for swimming pools, oil and water based paints, preservatives, medical and dental coatings, industrial and commercial coatings, fabrics, sterile bandages, liners of containers, and the like.

    摘要: A thermosetting aqueous-type emulsion of nadimide is disclosed. The emulsion comprises 1-70% by weight of an alkenyl-substituted nadimide, 0.1-20% by weight of protective colloid and/or surface-active agent and balance water. The emulsion is especially useful for making a paint, a coating material or an adhesive because the emulsion can easily be cured only by heating without forming any undesirable organic pollutants. In the past, various resins have been used together with organic solvents. However, because of the recent worldwide concern over the influence of organic solvents to pollution of the aerospace and underground environments, non-use or reduced-use of organic solvents is actively desired. Accordingly, developments of aqueous solution or aqueous-type emulsion of resins are desired. Until now there is no aqueous-type emulsion of a monomer of highly heat resistant polyimide.

    摘要: Siloxane-containing polyimides, useful as conformal coatings for electrical devices, can be synthesized via a novel Diels-Alder reaction in which bis-maleimide derivatives are polymerized with siloxane-containing bis-furan derivatives. The Diels-Alder adduct can be aromatized, and applied as a coating to a mineral substrate. The aromatized, polyimide coating can be cured thermally without additional cyclization on the substrate.
