Abstract: Embodiments herein include compositions, extruded articles, and methods of making the same. In an embodiment, an extruded article is included. The extruded article can include an extruded segment comprising a first composition. The first composition can include a polymer resin, particles and fibers. The fibers can be disposed within the first composition exhibiting a substantially non-aligned directional orientation. In an embodiment, an extruded article is included having a first portion comprising a first composition having a first fiber orientation and a second portion comprising a second composition having a second fiber orientation. The first composition can include a polymer resin and fibers. The second composition can include a polymer resin, particles and fibers. The fibers of the second composition can be oriented more randomly than the fibers of the first composition. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Abstract: A concrete dowel placement system and methods for making the same. The system allows for accurate and easy substantially-parallel or parallel placement of slip dowels within sections of concrete so that adjacent sections of concrete may be allowed to undergo thermal expansion and contraction while remaining in a common plane without cracking or faulting. The system includes a coupler and a sheath. The sheath is configured to be slidably extensible over the coupler and may be held to the coupler by friction. An outer surface of the sheath may be textured. Additionally, a method of constructing the concrete dowel placement system includes extruding material to form two tubes of different sizes. The tubes are then attached to each other, then material is extruded or injection molded to form a sheath. Alternatively, construction may include extruding material to form a tube, then removing some of the material from the tube in order to form a coupler.

Abstract: A method of making an elongate catheter tube, includes forming an outer surface with opposing flat sides, forming a first lumen with a first cross-sectional circular shape and a first cross-sectional area, forming a second lumen with a second cross-sectional circular shape and a second cross-sectional area substantially equivalent to the first cross-sectional circular shape and the first cross-sectional area, and forming a third lumen with a third cross-sectional circular shape and a third cross-sectional area. The third cross-sectional area can be smaller than the first cross-sectional area and the second cross-sectional area. The third lumen can be axially offset from a central axis of the elongate catheter tube and adjacent to a first side of the opposing flat sides. The third lumen can be formed to withstand pressures associated with power injection of a fluid therethrough.

Abstract: A catheter assembly for use in accessing a vasculature of a patient is disclosed. In one embodiment, the catheter assembly includes a catheter body that includes a flattened oval outer surface and defines first and second lumens. The catheter body defines a distal tip region that includes a venous lateral opening that is in fluid communication with the first lumen and includes a distal-facing portion. The distal tip region further includes an arterial lateral opening that is in fluid communication with the second lumen, includes a distal-facing portion, and is substantially un-staggered with respect to the venous lateral opening. A distal end opening is in fluid communication with a power injectable third lumen. In another embodiment, the first and second lumens each generally include a reniform cross-sectional shape. In yet another embodiment, a dual-lumen catheter includes first and second lumens that each define a modified ellipse cross-sectional shape.

Abstract: In a method of making a gaseous emissions treatment component, a ‘green’ ceramic mix is extruded through a die to form an extrusion having cells extending along the extrusion, the cells being bounded by walls dividing adjacent cells from one another. In concert with the extruding, metal is fed through the die with the extruded mix. A length of the extrusion and associated metal is then cut off and fired to form the component.
